My Thought and Take on Visionary Leadership

Leadership entails sight and vision. For the future to be shaped, it requires vision and foresight by leaders with the burden for change. Leadership requires the vision of an Eagle and the doggedness of a pitbull. An excellent and enlightened leader must arch a vision perfected with imagination.

Visionary leadership is neither satisfied with mediocrity nor the pleasure of what is in comparison to what can be. It believes that, where we are is nothing compared to where we can be and where we are going. Such visionary considers criticism to his vision and in all sincerity defends it and convince others of its validity, overcoming obstacles confronting it.

Foresight and clarity of purpose is important. An audacious vision is news making, having simile impossible task, with enormous challenges, requiring creativity and innovation to deliver benefit and value to the people, organization or nation.

Leadership may be thought, but the spirit of leadership gained from the university of Life is priceless. Vision in itself isn't achieved unless the visionary transforms the vision into reality. History isn't concerned with unimplemented vision or half baked goals.

Intelligent probe to a leadership vision include; who will it benefit? What's the interest to the society? Is is feasible and realistic? How would it implemented, randomly or on what specific plan? What's the best way to implement it? How would it be financed? Who are the people or team that would be involved? When is the ideal time to propose and implement the vision? The intelligent probe ensures the visionary is well rounded in mind and heart as to what to expect.

The road to change is a long and difficult one but with a leader having a well crafted vision, definitely it's possible and feasible. So what kind of leader are you and what kind are you becoming?
