Speedernet offers shortcut from SolidWorks to Virtual Reality
Sphere has added support for SolidWorks models to its Virtual Reality content creation platform. The new connection, currently in beta, uses glTF as an export format.
Sphere is specifically designed for professionals who need to produce interactive 360°/VR experiences. Its visual interface allows businesses to compose their creations in drag-and-drop fashion without writing code.
As a Solidworks Research Associate, Sphere natively integrates 3D files (glTF) from Solidworks new XR Exporter. The results can be viewed in a Web brower or used for creating VR content.
Consilia Vektor comments
Speedernet Sphere targets larger companies willing to produce in-house 360°/VR content and to insource their delivery. Design and engineering companies are among the early adopters. This is a major leap in innovation for prototyping and 3D design handling in VR with an Internet browser and a headset. Businesses can easily use their CAD data to create rich and interactive VR experiences on the web.
