Sunny winter day at the beach - 360 VR FOOTAGE PART #1
Hi, what's up Steemians! Welcome to my first 360 series. For a long time, I'm planning to start this series of posts about 360 degrees photography or virtual reality photography and video. According to Wikipedia VR photography, or virtual reality photography is the interactive viewing of wide-angle panoramic photographs and video, generally encompassing a 360-degree circle or a spherical view (hence also known as 360-degree [interactive] photo and photosphere). 360-degree photos simulate being in the shoes of a photographer and looking around to the left, right, up and down as desired as well as sometimes zooming.
I’m really impressed with this technology and it keeps getting better every day. New 360 cameras are released every few months and the resolution of the footage keeps getting better and better. This technology has a great future and with the development of cameras and the platforms on which you can publish your footage, I think In a few years maybe even sooner we will use virtual reality on a daily basis.
There are lots of different ways that you can create VR content. it depends on what you're trying to achieve if you want to create 360 photos you can use your normal camera and edit the photos later in the “ stitching” software. but if you want to shoot 360 videos you need to buy 360 camera. The second problem with this technology is how to view the content. At the moment there is a big battle between companies and platforms and everybody tries to give users the best experience.
I bought my first 360 camera two years ago and I'm still using it. it is a little camera manufactured by the LG and I think it is still great entry level 360 camera.
I also have the cheap VR glasses Which are basically a piece of plastic in which you stick your smartphone and you put it on your head to look like Robocop :-).
I started this series to upload and share with you my 360 footage and I will also try to explain the technology and softwares that are use I will probably write some tutorials on the subject. I wish in the future steemit platform will have a option to embed VR photos and videos in the posts. until then I will use VEER.TV platform to upload my footage. I think it is a great platform and it becomes very popular among VR content creators in a short time.
You can check my first 360 photo that I took at the beach in Brodarica (43.693325, 15.901781) yesterday. Use the LINK or click on the photo.
Used a VR glasses ones, the experience was awesome I must say. But never used the 360 Cam before, But I hope to try one soon .
Great article! Best place to be is a beach on a cold day! If your into VR you should check out Decentrland It's a VR platform built on the blockchain where you can own and develop your own land.
