Each Zebras’ stripe pattern is unique just like human finger prints.

The Zebras belongs to the family as horses and donkeys. There are three species of Zebra: Grevy’s, Plains and Mountain-All are found in Africa. The Plains are the most common species.

There are several hypotheses showing the importance of the stripes and fascinating facts about them. It is thought that the stripy coat does enable the Zebras to keep cool by dispersing 70% of heat from scorching sun in its habitat. The stripes serve to help camouflage and confuse their predators. They rely on large herds for their safety and survival-. It is also hypothesized that the stripes do play a role in intra-species communication and their bonding behaviors.
