Dear VIMM Community,

As many of you already know, We had to make the difficult decision to close @VIMM on June 8th due to our inability to cover the monthly running costs. This was an incredibly hard decision, one that weighed heavily on us. For six wonderful years, we ran this project purely out of love and passion. We all juggled a full-time job, family commitments, and the constant effort required to keep the VIMM service running smoothly, all without any monetary return.

Reflecting on the Journey

VIMM began as a passion project, and it remained that way throughout its entire existence. We faced tremendous challenges along the way, none more daunting than the AWS catastrophe. Yet, through sheer determination and with the unwavering support of our community, we managed to overcome these obstacles. Thanks to the dedicated members who stuck with us during the downtime and returned to streaming as soon as we found a new home for our service, you all kept the platform and community alive.

Gratitude for the VIMM Community

I am incredibly grateful for the love, support, and resilience of the VIMM community. Your commitment has been the driving force behind VIMM, and it is because of you that we were able to achieve so much.

Special thanks to @ciderjunkie, @shmoogleosukami, @nerdtopiade, @chisdealhd, @helpie-caster, @devmarvel, to only name a few, for going the extra mile in supporting the vision until the last day.

Looking to the Future

However, this is not the end of the journey. While we have had to close the current chapter of VIMM, I am already dreaming of the future. I envision a more ambitious version of VIMM, one that is more sustainable and even more community-driven. I believe in the potential of VIMM to grow and evolve into something even greater than before.

Plans for VIMM's Return

I am taking this time to regroup, re-strategize, and explore new possibilities. I am looking into innovative ways to bring back VIMM, potentially with enhanced features and a more robust infrastructure to ensure long-term sustainability. Your feedback and suggestions will be invaluable in this process, and I encourage you to share your thoughts and ideas with me.

Commitment to the Community

I want to assure you that my passion for VIMM and my dedication to this community have not diminished. I am committed to finding a path forward and to bringing back a version of VIMM that exceeds your expectations.
