Top 4 Vietnamese DishessteemCreated with Sketch.

Having lived in Vietnam for nearly 5 years, I am always exploring the massive food scene here. In my opinion, it might just be some of themost underrated in the world. Its absolutley delicious and most of its dishes, other than the classic 'Pho' are little known to most. Here are 4 of the best favourite Vietnamese dishes Ive had this week.

Snails with chili pepper, fish sauce & garlic

Grilled prawn with Chinese 5 spice and grilled octopus with a green pepper lime sauce

My Quang. A pork noodle soup with a mysterious, but insanely good broth. Served with rice crackers on top.

Hi @jakehorn87 this food looks amazing. Thai food is popular here but I've always wanted to try Vietnamese cooking. Thanks for sharing! Upvotes and resteemed @matchbox23

Thanks! Same to you man! Next time my gf cooks (shes VN) some food and I will get her recipe and some photos for you. Then you can cook some of your own VN dishes. Many of them are very simple. Until next time!

Even though I live in Vietnam I cannot get Vietnamese food. Most of it is well below average. I know I'll get some criticism but it is. It is not in the same league as Malaysian, Thai, Indonesian or even Cambodian.

Yea, I can understand that. It took me a long time to warm up to. However, I have found that for me, the key is finding a good place. Its not like Thailand where everywhere you go they can cook like pros. The main problem you will run into is poor quality of meat. Thats why finding the good spots are key, however time consuming, it is!
