"How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Enjoy the End of the World"-Cast of Characters
Just a brief introduction to the 3 main characters in the game.
This is the main character, who represents the player and any frustration the player may experience while surviving the end of the world. He represents the typical gamer who is into movies and doesn't have much luck with the ladies. The rest of the cast has many names for this character, including "Dude", "Beavis", "Buddy" or, "Beaverino" but, you never
ever get to learn his actual name. It is a running joke throughout the story.
He is a nice guy who just wants to save his friends from the evil, secret society known as, "The Brotherhood", who control the entire globe from behind the scenes. Well, he is nice most of the time. Once he has been pushed into a corner, he becomes a tad psychotic and might remind you a bit of the Hunter S. Thompson character, Raoul Duke. The initial design for the character was much like that of Raoul Duke but, was scrapped for this current design.
This is the Dude's best friend and right hand man, Matt. Sometimes referred to as, "Matty", he is the only member of the party who actually has any formal combat training, which makes him a valuable character in battle. When ammo or melee attacks don't do the trick, his martial arts will.
He is a cynical character who spits colorful language. Matt was never one to believe in conspiracy theories until the Brotherhood brought the hammer down, then had him put into a FEMA Camp......er, I mean uh, concentration camp. Saving Matt is one of the early missions in the game.
This is the lead female and love interest of the main character. Her name is Steph and she basically represents that seemingly cool girl that you can never seem to land into your life. She's your California, stoner girl stereotype who is also a single mom. Imagine that. Once you save her from getting a lethal injection, she fills your life with some of the most ridiculous dialogue in the game. She was my favorite character to write for in the game, besides a NPC which I may discuss later if there is such a demand. Oh, and you have to help her save her kids. Good luck with that...
She's cool until you mess with her kids, yo! Fo' sho fo' sho! She has some neat special skills at her disposal. "Woman's Rage" is a flurry of slaps to the face. "Girl Power" uses her uh, 'assets', to make the boys swoon and fight for your team. It even works on robot at one point. Wow, what a badly programmed robot.
Will the three of them survive the end of the world? Will the main character get lucky and get to repopulate the Earth with her? Or, is she gonna cheat on you while you are showing the Brotherhood the darkest parts of their own butts?
