Pretenders: "Talk of the Town"

One of the earlier Pretender songs is "Talk of the Town". Check out Chrissie Hynde's sultry voice and observe how tight the band performed back in 1980 (Although this was not a live recording). In any case, I never realized just how much impact they would have at that particular time in music. I only now recognize how brilliant and talented they actually were. Chrissie Hynde, an American, moved to London back in 1974. At that time, she reportedly couldn't sing and could only barely play the guitar . Six years latter, the times had changed immensely
