Standing up to the system: Danny Shine video highlights
Many of us on Steemit speak bold truths but we do so from behind the safety of our usernames, avatars and tor browsers. Danny is one of those rare beings who exposes himself wholly so that we may see in all its authenticity the power of one man standing up to the system. This was the day I met him for the first time in the flesh.

One year ago I helped Danny set up his account here (@dannyshine) and I am grateful to Steemit for being the catalyst which brought us together.
What freedom of speech???
There is a law in the UK (in place since 1986) which states that a person can be charged for behaving in a disorderly manner or for causing distress to others and Danny had been very lucky with this particular law until recently. For this reason I have had to edit out any footage which could be used against him.
The film which remains still stands as a great testament to the kind of person he is but it is frustrating as a filmmaker to have both hands tied behind my back by a corrupt control system, imposing its fear on everyone to the point where freedom of speech is a nothing more than a figment of our imagination.
Exciting future
I have a strong suspicion we are going to see some wonderful new ideas being born from the mind of this man over the next few years and I strongly suggest you follow his account to be sure you don't miss anything.

I would have faced a million charges by now if I lived there! I've caused distress to several others just today!
What's frightening is that American Progressives and their media have just declared open war on freedom of speech here. Thank God that Trump will be appointing more SC justices.
Thanks for that, thank Danny too I suppose, I sold a used item to what turned out to be a crazy person who was threatening to sue me over the $20 item and it had me all bent out of shape last night, I was hoping you would have some sage advice about that and look what the universe provided! That said I am open to any more advice I can get.
Leave angry people to their anger. The worst thing we can do is get angry too. This is what they want. Like addicts seeking drinking partners. The best way we can help them is by demonstrating our happiness.
sometimes I feel like I can feel their bad energy and I have trouble disconnecting it but perhaps it is only my own. Obviously it is a lunatic who would threaten court action over a $20 imagined slight but still the part of my brain that has strong reactions to perceived unfairness is activated. I don't like the suggestion that I would try to hoodwink someone, especially over $20. I may have to yell at a mountain or the sky today.
Many of us dare not expound our views openly for fear of becoming prisoners of conscience. Kudos to Danny Shine!
