Weather code red in the Netherlands Infrastructure disrupted

In the Netherlands we are used to different weather conditions. But sometimes it is exceptional weather for the Dutch.

Today is such a day for example. The Dutch weather institute KNMI warned for an orange code on Thursday all week, which is already a fairly high warning for extreme weather conditions.

A storm was predicted with heavy to very heavy gusts of wind.

Code has become red

But now that the time has come, the wind force is higher than expected. Wind speeds have already been measured of wind force 10 on the coast!

The infrastructure is disrupted

I know it can be much worse in other parts of the world, for example with hurricane season in America. We have never experienced it so badly here in the Netherlands.

But in comparison with what we are getting here it is quite exciting!

Numerous roads where the storm rages are partly or completely closed due to fallen trucks or trailers and fallen trees.

The Dutch Railways has stopped all train services.

The Dutch airline KLM has also canceled all flights and keeps the aircraft on the ground.

The storm is also noticeable at work

This morning a huge wind blew through the corridors upon arrival at work.

That was of course very striking and it seemed to me very unlikely that someone had opened windows with this weather.

Eventually the cause turned out to be a light dome that had been blown off the roof by the wind!

The light dome has been found!

Eventually the light dome was found near a bridge near the office. On the public road.

It is a miracle that this dome, 1 by 1 meter, has not injured anyone.
