Learn To Shoot In Manual! Reasons Why [DTube Photo Video Exclusive]
How I learned photography was in manual mode. I never used P mode I never used Auto mode because when I started, there was no such thing. When I was in film school, we learned how to operate all exposure triangles in manual. I guess because of that, I take it for granted. In this video, I talk about the reasons why learning how to shoot in manual is so important. You can tell a huge different in quality and cinematic value when you're shooting your videos in manual. Especially if you have constant lighting. Even if you don't have constant lighting, if you learn how to shoot in manual, it only takes a few seconds to find your correct exposure. It's really important if you want to maximize the quality of your footage and even for your photography.
Let's talk about it in this video and let me know what you think and if it helped you out. I did have a dead cat on to block the wind, but it was extra windy and I guess some moments were interrupted by the wind, but 90% of it is clear. Enjoy!

This is great. I didn't realise you had this channel. Back in 2013 I started a 365 project where I shot every day in manual mode. I got through it without missing a day and learned so much about exposure and photography through doing that, amongst other things like processing, selecting quickly, editing and discipline! I'm very new to video, having begun only when I came to DTube 35 days ago. I'm shooting exclusively on my iPhone and will be for the foreseeable future, but I'd love to upgrade sometime. It's nice to see that what I've learned with my Nikon DSLR will transfer over to video when I eventually get to upgrade to some new gear!

This is actually the first channel I thought about creating, but ended up making dnews instead. This is my bread and butter though :) along with personal development. Yeah totally! You can apply a lot of exposure theory from photo to video easily!

I'd like to know if 1300d allows you to upload videos to YouTube & Dtube directly? If it doesn't, can you suggest a model that lets me do that in the same budget?
