Vertcoin, A Coin To Stay

I have been interested in Vertcoin since August of 2017. I thought and continue to think their platform and technology is great. My biggest regret was not investing when I could have. Today the total market cap is over 370 million dollars.

For those who do not know what Vertcion is, I will give a quick introduction.

Vertcoin is a digital currency that can be sent between people over the internet. It stays true to the decentralized, give power to the people, idea of cryptocurrency. Unlike most coins out their, the developers are volunteers and the fundings come as donations from people.

A main difference between Vertcoin and Litecoin and Bitcoin is that Vertcoin is designed to resist centralization. As a result, mining with custom hardware and mining pools are difficult to set up. This is great news for miners as it evens the playing field. Proof Work though.

Vertcoin also differs from Bitcoin as it supports the Lightning Network (a scalable instant blockchain transaction system).

Block Time: 2.5 Minutes (similar to Litecoin)
Block Reward: 25 Coins per block
Halves: Every 840,000 coins
Premine: Zero

The circulating supply today is 42 million. So the current supply is half what it will ever be.

A drawback one could say to Vertcoin is the top 100 adresses own the majority of the coins.

And finally the github oinly has 6 stars, however the have a lot of developers and add a lot of the bitcoin core code.

In the past the coin had to fight a lot of the high early inflation rate when it comes to price, that seems to be settled now if the max supply is correct.

In summary Vertcoin is superior to Bitcoin. It shares many similarities to Litecoin (my favorite currency), but it also has some improvements over Litecoin (more decentralized).

On the negative side, the usage of the coin still is far less than Litecoin. The marketcap is significantly smaller as well. As a result, obtaining Vertcoin is far harder than Litecoin. It is on Poloniex but not Coinbase or any other large scale exchange.
