Whats the deal with the Petro?

Hey people!

I write this post to the Venezuelan community here, on Steemit. I have some question, and i cant find answers.

So what about the Petro, the petromoneda? Here, in Europe we can read all the international "mainstream" crypto news-sites, with the same news and articles in many places. And let me tell you, all the public informations about petro are... blurry.
We can read the marketing texts from the goverment, the marketing texts from the news, the half-truths and the hype and the fud, and all the informations, and actually we cant know, which ones are right. The last one, what i've read, the Venezuelan gov giving the xmas bonus in petro? Ahm?

So, if you have own experience, please, share with me, whats the true situation:

• Petro is exist, or its just a marketing-plan? You can buy/get, store, sell, or paid it? There is an official wallet?

• If there is an official wallet, where came from? You can download it from the government's website? Its opensource or not?

• There are shops, where petro is accepted? What i may read, the more ten thousands of merchants, who accept the petro, these shops are exist? You can buy stuffs with it? You can buy stuffs from the goverment?

• You can transact peer-to-peer, with petro? Between smartphones?

• So, as cryptocurrency, there is any sense of the petro? Or its just some state nonsense, and "sounds good, doesnt work" thing?
