The legend Jeep CJ-7
This legend car is a Jeep production car. Jeep which was owned by AMC (American Motor Corporation) released the successor of the Civilian Jeep series with Jeep CJ-7 in 1976. Jeep in this photo produced in 1982, has a 4wd propulsion capable of conquering extreme terrain. Jeep is also very comfortable to drive because the weight is quite heavy so that the suspension function can work optimally and not easily shake when top speed.
Still retain the characteristic Jeep with 7-hole vertical grille used since World War II era, CJ-7 is impressed macho and ferocious. This car is divided into 2 variants namely CJ-7 for those who wear a short chassis with 3 doors and a long chassis named CJ-8. In America there, this car is offered in various trim levels such as Renegade, Golden Eagle, Golden Hawk, and Laredo to limited edition versions like Limited and Jamboree Commemorative Edition. Differences between trim levels exist in the year of production, the machine until the choice of accessories. In Indonesia it seems only available basic variants.
This car first appeared with a choice of 6-cylinder inline 6-cylinder AMC engine with a carburetor. OHV 258cu engine is famous reliable, cheap enough and torque kick for the size of American cars of that era. This machine is capable of generating power of 98Hp and 261Nm of torque. In 1981, Jeep also issued a diesel variant of the CJ-7 with Isuzu C240 engine with 2400cc OHV 8 valve 4 cylinder configuration. This diesel engine is capable of generating power of 68Hp and 145Nm of torque. Unlike the gasoline engine is wasteful, diesel engine is much more fuel efficient though the population is quite rare because the old days people are less fond of diesel engines except for buses and trucks. For transmission, used 4 speed manual transmission.
The weakness of CJ-7 is on the strength of the chassis where the car chassis is flexible because the number of cross membernya less than the chassis jeep class. This bending chassis is nice because it feels comfortable in the ride even though less good mantab used offroad. Axle behind this car is also notoriously less powerful where the splinen teeth easily broken because the two-piece design that carried. For those who are accustomed to newer and more comfortable and advanced cars, the CJ-7 also feels uncomfortable when braking so it is advisable to keep a distance with the car in front of it.
