Yes, this is a chalk mine, but not in use anymore. In central-eastern Europe one can find a lot of places like this. And usually nobody minds me driving in.
In strong contrast to this, I remember driving into a kind of similar place in the North (UK). While walking around, feeling all on my own, I was suddenly screamed at through hidden loudspeakers (after having been watched on hidden cameras). I jumped, then left....
I can imagine that in the UK. We have a disused chalk quarry down the road from us. I always fantasise about climbing all over it when we drive past. But it has sturdy gates that are firmly locked.
