Vegetarians and Vegans could be making this mistake

The title is a little misleading but once you click the link, you’ll understand why they worded things the way they did in the title. It’s definitely clickbait! 😂

I remember when I first cut meat from my diet. I was having a hard time finding something else to eat. I made the common mistakes that Rebecca Gawthorne has mentioned in her article. I ate more carbs with vegetables. I thought I was doing a great job! 🤦🏻‍♀️ I would cook meals for my husband and son (I only had one son at the time) and would eat what they did except the meat.
A normal meal daily had a meat, pasta or flavored rice, and a vegetable. So I would mix the vegetable(s) and pasta or rice together.
After about 3 weeks of doing that, I was getting sick of these same foods all the time. I tried eating salads and i’m probably the only vegetarian in this world that refuses to eat salads often.

As you’ve seen from a previous post of mine, I have recently found a way to make a salad delicious! Yay! The chili chickpeas I make:

Getting sick of the same boring foods and not having the energy to do anything had me researching recipes! Of course I started out by searching “simple vegetarian meals”, “cheap vegetarian meals”, and “vegetarian meals meat eaters would love”. 🤣

Oh, let me explain! I didn’t become a vegetarian because of beliefs. I started having horrible nausea whenever I would eat pork or beef. Then after a couple of weeks, stomach cramps came with the nausea and indigestion. It also happens with eggs. The only way I can eat eggs is if it’s baked into something and not straight eggs like an omelette or quiche etc.

So now I’m constantly looking for new vegetarian recipes so that I never get bored with my food. I was dreading having to give up meat, but now things have been easier. And food tastes amazing now! I don’t get horrible cravings. Greasy foods make me sick, so my body just doesn’t crave it anymore.
Once you start living a certain lifestyle, it’s going to be a struggle at first. But get through the first 2 weeks and make sure you’re keeping things interesting, and you’ll crave it! You’ll enjoy the lifestyle changes!
