5 significant things I noticed after being Vegan 2+ years

The 'Vegan' rush is here to stay and while far from perfect, here are some significant things I have noticed on my journey being 'vegan.'

1. It's nearly impossible to be a perfect Vegan.

'You have to be a Beast or God to live separately from the system' Driving a car is burning dead dinosaur carcasses. So I could get a Tesla. Where does the electricity come from that's powering up the Tesla? If that lines up along with not having animal leather seats, I'm constantly smashing bugs, frogs, and other creatures on my way to pick up avocados. So I'll walk. Still smashing bugs and and the soul-crushing snail shell.

Soaps, lamp shades, wool clothing, even some electronics can contain animal products. The list is nearly infinite.. Point being I consider my diet plant based and consider 'veganism' a philosophy I strive to embrace. To me it's about making a conscious effort and simply doing my best for myself and the world at large.

2. Toothaches went away

Not having proper dental insurance or the means to pay out right can be an extreme problem in one's life. This is what happened to me. While I still save away for all my proper dental procedures, going vegan has bought me supple amounts of time to do so. This is mostly attributed to the fact bio char or animal bones is used to bleach sugar and an effort to become a healthy vegan by avoiding processed sugars and having a heavily sugar based diet. I haven't had one toothache while adopting this diet and while my procedures can be delayed, I still need my dental work done 😐

3. The 'Meat is murder' rants went away relatively swiftly.

Doing the 'I'm Vegan Dance' gets worn out quickly mostly due to self consciousness (at least for me). Pushing fruits and veggies on people may not always be acceptable. This dietary choice or lifestyle should by no means condescend others. Compassion for animals includes fellow humans and by no means does being 'vegan' make one better than another being. Carrying an aura of empathy and compassion goes so much farther than being an extroverted plant evangelist. The antithesis of boasting; being mysterious is actually more effective and comfortable in my experience.

4. I don't get 'sick'

The complex biochemistry of our bodies vary greatly from individual to individual. Since my hysterical, psychedelic, mental fit that initiated me into veganism cold turkey, I haven't had a cold, flu, or sore throat. I did eat ample amounts of garlic during the winter with no shortages of oranges, and spirulina smoothies in the morning; which I'm sure did a good amount towards preventing sore throats or the common cold. Being far from invulnerable, the conscious effort of being vegan led me towards the effort of preventing sickness which leads me to the last point.

5. A significant increase in mental dexterity

'Feels like I'm walking on the air' Becoming vegan requires doing some homework. Without critical thinking skills though, reading voraciously is nearly pointless. Not only has this dietary choice by reading and figuring out what works best for me, my head actually feels lighter. This isn't just because of only eating plants but myriad of things that the increased awareness of dieting has led to. By changing one part of my life, many parts changed along with it. Eliminating comfort foods (even vegan junk food), timing my meals, growing some of my food, incorporating work outs and static excercises, etc. are all mostly due to the conscious effort of ameliorating my diet.
