So, the term IOT-Internet of Things – denotes any household or industrial device that is able to access the Internet. But it is necessary to make a reservation in advance that this category does not include the usual devices for access to the world wide web – smartphones, personal computers, tablets and so on. The Internet of things includes IP video cameras, smart home appliances, smart homes, baby monitors, smart cars, medical online sensors and so on. In General, those things that previously existed only offline, but now, with the development of technology, are able to go online.
The use of such things makes the lives of many people much more comfortable – smart homes can fully control the microclimate within themselves and manage household appliances instead of a person, unmanned vehicles are able to fully control the whole situation on the roads and move without the driver. Various household appliances such as vacuum cleaners, refrigerators, kettles and washing machines were able to be controlled by their owners remotely. And I'm not talking about fully Autonomous factories and enterprises, which are fully controlled by automation, and people only watch their work through the Internet.
But not everything is so rosy, if you follow the news from this area, you can be horrified by the frequency of messages that another IoT device was hacked and harmed its owner. For example, smart insulin injectors, hacking can simply kill its owner with an overdose, and smart cars can be the will of the hacker to arrange an accident with dozens of victims. But this is extreme, most often hacking IOT devices by hackers is carried out for two reasons – the theft of personal information about the owners for the purpose of subsequent blackmail and extortion, or hacking and taking control of a smart device to include it in a botnet, which is then used for massive DDoS attacks on various servers and sites.
One of these situations happened to the founder of the company Vecap, who then thought about how vulnerable and not secure the Internet of things market. That is why he founded a company that is able to change this by its activities.
The company Vecap, based in Germany, will be engaged in the creation of software and auxiliary devices for Internet of things devices, which will significantly increase their security. Their main product will be special adapters that can connect to almost any modern IOT device and with the help of special SOFTWARE to allow it to be isolated from the Internet in case of infection. This method will help improve the security of most modern IOT devices without significantly increasing their cost. After all, it is the financial issue that makes IoT devices so unreliable – it is simply unprofitable for manufacturers to make maximum protection against all possible attacks on their products, because then their price will be simply unaffordable for ordinary buyers.
For maximum security, as well as the convenience of the technology, Vecap will use its own blockchain, as well as its own crypto currency VC, which will be used by their customers to purchase security equipment, as well as pay for a monthly subscription. As part of their blockchain, there will also be a separate token, which will be exchanged between each other by The IOT devices themselves.
