First time making homemade chocolate truffles
Valentine's day is just around the corner!
Let's make homemade chocolate truffles! Why not in the shape of a heart?
**Disclaimer, I am experimenting by taking parts of various recipes from the interwebs I read prior to making this. It's a learn as you go thing I like to do in the kitchen 😜
Get your ingredients together and take a picture to share on your social media. 📸
I read that the chocolate ganache for a truffle should be a 2:1 ratio. 2 parts chocolate and 1 part cream. I'm not fully convinced about this information.
Measuring on a scale is better than a measuring cup. This is true in life as well.
Heat cream over stove, low heat.
It's a good idea to finely chop the chocolate while the cream is heating. I missed this step and it wasn't good. Now I know better for next time. Chop yo chocolate.
Pour warm cream over (chopped) chocolate. Let sit for a couple minutes to melt chocolate.
Stir chocolate until completely combined into rich, smooth, decedent texture.
This is where I fucked up on the chopping. I had big chunks of chocolate that didn't melt!
Scoop chocolate ganache into mold. Make sure there are no air bubbles.
You can also roll into a ball like many other truffles of the world. It's a messy job!
I added some fresh raspberry in some of the hearts to try. (I did not like them!!!)
Chill in fridge for a little while. Then pop them out of the mold. Careful you don't break my heart!
I sprinkled some cinnamon/cumin/chili powder mixture on to some of the hearts to "spice up" my love life 😉😉😋 it's actually pretty good (yeah, both)
Melt more chocolate for the shell. Make it pourable but thick enough that it stays on the candies (I'm still working on this process).
I had this edible glitter spray and figured I try it out.
Pretty!! 😍
Drizzle more chocolate to make tiny art on the truffles.
Chill to set chocolate. Eat! I mean give to the one you love for Valentine's day ❤️
Thanks for checking out my blog 👍🤸

Bahahahaha! You're funny ;) this was fun to read. I've dreamt about making chocolate before, but never have. Now I must! I love the sparkle from the glitter. Just perfect and adds elegance!! Send me a box ;D
Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed my humor 😂😂
I definitely recommend a chocolate truffle, no raspberry. They taste really good!
Thanks for the tip! If I get around to doing it I'll let you know how it went:)
You just blew my mind with the invention of FOOD SHIMMER SPRAY! Lets hope I dont get my hands on it any time soon, or else EVERYTHING I EAT is going to be gold. LOL Great job they look DELICIOUS!
😂😂 can you imagine? Shimmery sushi? Hot dogs with sophistication? Waffles that are ready to party? Endless possibilities! I bought it at Michael's.
P.s. they have lots of colors!!!
wait. sushi was actually my very first thought!! We make a lot of it here lol and making it gold would be the BEST- did it have any taste?
The spray has an aerosol smell but it goes away in a few minutes. No taste.
that's it. everything I eat from now on shall be GOLD.
Those looks great!!! Really good job. I've been trying to think of stuff to do for my girlfriend. I'm gonna keep these in mind. Thanks!
Yea, Valentines can require a lot of thought. Personally, my favorite thing for Valentines is the card. My husband always finds the perfect melt-your-heart card.
I like to make a candy/craft for my boys to give to the women in their lives, aunts & grandmas, etc. When they are older they will do the work but for now I'm enjoying it 👍
