'I volunteered to help beat the virus'
More trials of COVID vaccines go live today as Imperial College London join Oxford University with trials of their vaccine on 300 "volunteers."
The Oxford vaccine has been on going for over a month now but researchers are struggling to get verifiable evidence that it works owing to the lack of COVID infections in the country.
As the UK begins to ease it's lockdown with cases, hospitalisations and deaths falling over 80% from the peak, live trials of vaccines may prove to be ineffective.
The race for the first vaccine heats up.
A lot of people continue to call the virus a hoax, and there are avid naysayers who condemn the mainstream media for it's scaremongering tactics as well as over politicisation of the pandemic. To some extent, these people are justified. If the vast majority of people who have died are over the age of 65 and over 40% of the population is 35 and under with an fatality rate of less than 0.5%, then it starts to pain a pretty clear picture of what portion of the population was hit the hardest, and which portion of the population feels justified in complaints of breaches of freedom and so on.
Politics driving the narrative.
What should be clear, regardless of which "side" you're on, is that the pandemic has long been a political hustle for power and no longer a public health concern. In Britain, Bojo has continued to do what he does best (lie) to his benefit, while Governors across the States have been reluctant to relinquish their power grabs as they sit comfortably at home brandishing those who open their small businesses back up to feed their children while they themselves cash in their monthly paycheck at a slight inconvenience.
Class divides are becoming evident and this is driving opportunity for presidential elects to sell their election narrative.
I hope the proper vaccine is going to be distributed soon enough to help us, and hope that people will start to accept and face reality instead of just shoving this problem away.
Good post keep it up!
