How to download Youtube videos in vlc
Hello everyone,
I'm back with another tutorial that might provide to be useful and let you utilize the full potential of this amazing software.
Visible Light Communication or commonly known as VLC is an open-source cross-platform multimedia player and framework that plays most multimedia files including streaming protocols. This software is just full packed with amazing features that is just waiting to be discovered.
Did you know that you can actually stream Youtube videos using vlc and also be able to save it without using any other third party applications? Well, now you will know that it is possible and I will be guiding you through it, so that we can all be happy and also we can uninstall the useless third party applications because all we need is vlc.
How to stream Youtube videos in vlc
First and foremost you must have vlc installed in your pc, if you haven't click this link and it will take you to their official homepage, there you can download their app for free and virus-free.
After you have downloaded the software, install and open it.
Next open your browser and search for the Youtube video that you want to play in vlc, then copy the URL (Uniform Resource Locator) from the address bar.
Once you have opened the vlc and copied the URL, go to Media > Open Network Stream
After you clicked on the Open Network Stream, this tab will pop-up
As indicated in the picture above, paste your video URL on the rectangular box under "Please enter a network URL:".After you have pasted it, give it a go signal by clicking the play button that is indicated by the second arrow. Then, you can now sit back and enjoy the video.
How to download Youtube videos in vlc:
To download the Youtube videos that you are watching in vlc, go to Tools , then click Codec Information.
Once you click the Codec Information, this tab will pop-up.
This would be the Codec Information tab where you can get the source file that is directly from Youtube's servers. Copy the link then open your browser and paste the link in the address box.
This will open up the video and you can have the option to save it . Click save video as > change the name of the file to your liking then hit Save.Wait for it to finish downloading and once finished you now saved a video from Youtube using vlc.
