What is 1UP In A Nutshell?

1UP is a new open source communitiy upvoting app where user votes are equal. It daily upvotes the ten highest ranked posts in each community with a smart curation rewards system. We create the UP token based on Steem's upcoming Smart Media Token (SMT) and distribute it to Steemians and communities via various airdrops. UP holders will support community growth and enjoy higher than average returns through smart curation.

SteemFest3

SteemFest3 in Krakow was a great opportunity for the 1UP-team to meet the Steem communities and talk about our plans. We even had a brief talk with Steemit itself and they were very interested in 1UP.

SteemFest3 has also delayed our progress quite a bit. However, the current state of 1UP is close to the first minimum viable product. It is mostly design work left, including graphic design as well as the CSS programming.

It was also the first time that the 1UP team met in person as well. On the left you see the founder @flauwy and main developer @stoodkev.

New Design

1UP is a very complex system that must be as easy and intuitive as possible for the users. In order to achieve that we have looked for an expert in that area and were lucky to find someone:

Our new UX/UI designer @nateaguila, who also created the amazing designs for Steem KeyChain and SteemMonsters, has nearly finished our new layout. We have a more gamified approach now and simplified as much as possible. Below is a little sneak peak:

SMT Delay By Steemit.inc

As many of you might have heard already, Steemit has reduced its personal by 70% due to the cryptocurrency bear market. Cutting back staff directly inlfuences the development of the SMT protocol. At this state we simply don't know what is going to happen. Steemit has not specifically released any of their plans regarding SMT's with the current situation.

1UP has planned to build its system on the back of our own UP token, delivering us with a unique reward pool for effective curating. Distributing this token was also part of the efforts to receive Steem Power delegation in return, a process that is now potentially debilitated. We will continue our Fundition campaign to finish the dApp and keep it going but at this rate we cannot effectively promise any tokens. All support will be tracked exactly as planned, to stay ready for any update in that matter.

Community Live-Stream

These are difficult times for Steem dApp developers. 1Up is inviting individuals as well as our fellow dApp creators to join our community live-stream on Saturday, December 8th, at 11am CST (5pm London time). We will discuss the future of 1UP, how to handle the SMT situation to the greatest satisfaction of the community and Fundition campaign backers as well as how this is influencing the Steem ecosystem as a whole.

Other dApp creators will get the chance to talk about their own problems with this and what solutions they might see for us. SteemFest has shown us to move closer together. 1UP is meant to be a daily tool for all communities on Steem. Help us with your input and support to overcome this difficult moment and help Steem to transform to the next level.
