We need a Prompt when user accidentally clicks (or refreshes) while using utopian.io editor!
Suggestion:
A simple prompt is needed while refreshing a page or clicking at anything while a user is writing on utopian editor.
How it would work ?
- Let's say the user is writing a contribution on utiopian.io editor:
- And he accidently clicks anywhere else ! An alert should pop up asking do you really wish to leave the page ?
Advantages:
In an event where user accidentally leaves the editor, a draft is automatically saved in the drafts. However, if somehow, it does not get saved because of let's say: the connection with steem is down, then the user may end up loosing all work. The suggestion would make life much easier for the user.
Disadvantages:
Since the prompt box looks different for different browwsers, some control over how the UI responds is lost. To tackle this, instead of a simple browser prompt, some app inherent prompt could be uised. This way control over the UI beahaviour is retained while improving user convinience.
Thanks.
