Introducing Steemit To The People Of Ushafa, Bwari-Abuja, Nigeria

Last week, I sat and thought how to go about a Steemit Reach-Out in my locality, Ushafa, Bwari-Abuja. knowing fully well that I am probably the only steemian who have been on the platform for a period of time. I talked with a newbie I introduced @dinah4sure and she bought the idea and also contributed alot to it.

It was so impromptu but we had to do it this past weekend being Saturday, 6th of January, 2018.

We started telling people about it, then we finally got a venue on Friday morning, I told @ewuoso about it, because he's done something similar and he gave me ideas. I had to also create a banner/flyer of which I contacted a steemian but he couldn't get it done within a short period due to device power so I had to make use of my the app called PicsArt and then I put up a social media campaign on Friday evening.

The campaign was put up on Facebook where I talked about the areas that will be touched and talked on.

From this screenshot below, you can see the campaign got the attention of friends getting up to 43 likes, 33 comments and 24 shares respectively!

Now to the comment section, it got a lot of support and great reviews as you can see below..






Those comments were obviously a boost!

Now to the main event

The Seminar which had 26 people in attendance, was scheduled to start by 2:00pm prompt had some setbacks and we had to start by 2:30pm.

Reasons were due to projector not connecting with my laptop because I got a laptop to TV HDMI cord instead of a Laptop to Projector. @dinah4sure had to rush home to bring her TV so we can get started!

TV arrived and all setup was done... But little problem started coming in with the laptop to TV connection... Without wasting more time, I had to kick-off with introduction and then the seminar begins pending when the connection will be available because we later got someone setting it up!

I introduced myself and started the seminar talking about proposed topic as posted up on my Facebook timeline which are;

• Introduction to Steemit: What is steemit and how does it works

• Getting Started: introductory post, steemit tags

• Advanced Steemit Knowledge: what is steem, steem power and steem dollars, how to improve your posts with steemit markdown, difference between steem, steem dollars and steem power, Reward payout Computation, Difference between voting power and steem power

• Steps in withdrawing earnings

• Techniques to become successful on Steemit

Here is the first video when I started doing some oral lectures.

During my oral presentation, I talked about steemit in general, tags, introductory posts, flagging, spamming etc.

Questions was called upon, and I had a newbie @odietetessy asking some questions.

She asked on how to get followers and in my reply, I had to tell her and everyone that begging for followers on steemit is bad but instead do what people love and you will surely get the followers.

@dinah4sure opted to give some inspiring words and testimony about herself on the steemit platforms and some Steemians doing good on the platform while I joined to make the laptop work with the TV.

The connections started going smooth after about 5mins and then the practical tutorial began!

Of course, with the use of the equipment, excitement started coming in and it was all great all through!

I created a WhatsApp group to put them through and here is a glance...

I also did a 1hr 10 minutes presentation on the group that same day which started at 8:10pm and ended at 9:20pm

The group now have 30 members and its looking good already!
