Utopian Moderator Application

My name is Afonso Tavares and I’m applying for the role of translation moderator at Utopian.

I am 23 years old and I am from Portugal, living in London at the moment.

I have been contributing to the platform for some time and it has been a great experience. I am by definition a very diligent and methodological person and so I always apply that work ethic to my translations. More importantly, I have native proficiency in English due to my early close contact with the language, namely through video games, social media and pop culture. I also have a Cambridge First Certificate in English.

One of the reasons why I wanted to apply for this role is that I feel that the translation category should be moderated by people with as varied linguistic backgrounds as possible in order to make sure all our contributions not only obey the formal rules of Utopian, but the actual translations are properly done.

Moreover, I feel that this platform’s contributions is certainly going to grow in the near future – and in fact it has been growing at the moment – so I want to help make the moderating team manage the large number of contributions with quality and on time, and also our contributors with any doubts or concerns regarding Utopian rules.
