Project Details

OroCRM is an open source PHP Client Relationship Management (CRM) application that allows to create a 360° view of your customers across multiple channels, organize the sales pipeline, manage account and contact information, communicate with customers, run marketing campaigns and track campaign performance.

Contribution Specifications

OroCRM is on the Crowdin Platform to be translated into more than 30 languages, some languages like Spanish had several dialect options for translators to choose theirs. For this project we decided to start on Spanish (Colombia) due to the other Spanish dialects (including the main one) had already started being translated. So we began translating Spanish, Colombia from zero to give the owner a properly organized and coherent translation.

Translation Overview

For this part I translated 3 documents from 2 folders:

1- messages.en.yml from OroReportCRMBundle

All words inside this document are part of a menu related to CRM (Client Relationship Management) reports, which included some strings like "Opportunities In Progress" > "Oportunidades En Progreso" and "Number leads by date" > "Número de clientes potenciales por fecha"

2- jsmessages.en.yml and messages.en.yml from the folder OroSalesBundle

With a few strings about new accounts management and leads settings. e.g. "Email address was not deleted, the lead has more than one email addresses, can't set the new primary." > "La dirección de correo electrónico no fué eliminada, el cliente potencial tiene más de una dirección de correo electrónico, no se puede establecer la nueva dirección de correo electrónico principal."

As you may have noted, this document is still being translated. In this first section of it we can find strings related to lead statistics and opportunity statistics. But, what's an opportunity in this context? The opportunity entity represents a potential sale to new or established customers. It helps you to forecast future business demands and sales revenues. Some example strings are "New Opportunities count" > "Conteo de Nuevas Oportunidades" and "Sum close revenue for 'won' items" > "Suma total de ingresos para artículos 'ganados'"

The project's source language is English and it was translated into Spanish.

Today I've succesfully translated more than 45 thousand words for open source projects, and I'm currently working for a Cooperative named RChain being on the translations section as a guide.
