RE: Proofreading Polish translation of Steemit Whitepaper (from 0 to 100%)

in #utopian-io7 years ago (edited)

While we don't exactly accept Proofreading as a valid contribution on Utopian, we do have the rule that:

Same translations from different authors will be accepted if the moderator can recognise the newest translation has better quality.

I need to check that with other Supervisors. Thank you for contributing to such an important project!

Ha. This rule actually sucks. Please check. But even if it doesn't work out, at least the translation is nice now ;)

We were thinking of adding Proofreading as a valid category for a while now! We're still in the process of making sure other categories are close to perfection, so that'll have to wait, but in the future this process will likely be streamlined for both of us.

I do like your take on your involvement in this project though! Sadly, I just realized something that I completely overlooked - Crowdin is currently not supported by Utopian, which is why I can't accept this post. Sorry to get your hopes up, I hope you will come back to us with other quality contributions when the time comes!

But wait. I don't get it. If crowdin is not accepted, how is it possible that the original translation was accepted as a contribution? It was done on crowdin too.

The rules have changed very recently, you can read our update on it here, but also our potential foresight at bringing back Crowdin here. We're still in the middle of discussions on this issue, but we should have an announcement ready soon.

Ok, I will put it differently. I' ve spent 2 weeks of my life on this translation because I've translated HUGE PART of this project myself. The origanal text was messy. Which you can check yourself because you have access to this translation, right?

I'm not gonna argue with you guys because the rules are the rules and I suppose that I should have read them first. But I still feel tricked as hell.

I get you. The best thing I can suggest is somehow exporting a file with the translation from Crowdin and submitting it directly to Github as a new contribution.

Either that, or wait about a week when we should have Crowdin re-enabled and I'll let you submit this as an exception, even though normally we don't allow for resubmitting the same contribution again.

Ok, just to make sure. Can it submit the contribution now?

Yup, I'll accept it for you.

Ok, so I suppose that submitting it again will be the best course of action.
