Profit By Contributing To Steemit and Open Source Projects. Here's How!
I am going to show you in this post how to profit by contributing to Open Source projects and earn Steem Power.
The post I am writing right now is a contribution for an Open Source project that you know quite well... Steemit. Steemit is Open Source, that means its codebase is public, accessible by everyone, editable by everyone. As a proof here is the code behind Steemit: https://github.com/steemit/condenser.
I am writing this contribution using Utopian.io. Utopian.io is the only platform rewarding Open Source contributions with Steem Power. The contribution I am writing right now is falling under the "Visibility" Category in Utopian.io, since I am trying to push the Steemit Open Source project by bringing more contributors to it.
Utopian.io will reward me for creating this contribution with the votes of the community members plus the vote of the Utopian Bot that is powered by 530K Steem Power.
You can also profit from contributing to Steemit using Utopian and I am going to show you how. Keep reading.
My Visibility Effort for Steemit includes:
- 200 SBD to promote this post.
- Promotion on my Steemit profile with almost 1k active followers.
- Promotion in the Utopian discord channel: https://discord.gg/Pc8HG9x where there are already people actively contributing to Open Source projects
Contributions under the Visibility category in Utopian must provide proof of the visibility effort, this is why I am giving you all these details.
The more details I give, the better is my contribution, the most chances I have to get voted by the Utopian Bot that is powered by 530K Steem Power. Read about the Utopian Bot.
You Can Also Contribute To Steemit and Be SUPER-voted by the Utopian Bot

- Read and accept the rules for the category you have chosen
- Write steemit/condenser inside the Github repository field and press enter. Click on the first result that will show up in the window.
- Give it a nice title
- Write about your contribution in details.

wow great post i read this post today . .
Wow sweet
Greetings @elear! Do you think Steemit has what it takes to be one of the top 10 global social media platforms?
We do! Are you willing to help us do what it takes to fix steemits vulernabilities so we can bring this platform to the mainstream?
I represent an media alliance with over 10 million followers. We see that steemit needs a few small, but very important changes to make it to the next level.
Please share your solutions with us! And help us attract the attention of steem developers. Share your wisdom and thoughts with us at

Together, we will bring steem to the Mainstream!
tnks
yeah.. sweet..
You say utopian.io is maintained by steemit, so giving active key to utopian is safe.
Hey @chenlocus. Never wrote that. I wrote SteemConnect V2 is maintained by Steemit not Utopian :)
Hi @elear if Utopian is not maintained by steemit, how can we ensure the safety of account if we enter active key while login
@chenlocus Because it uses SteemConnect V2 to login that is maintained by Steemit. Utopian never sees your credentials nor it is able to store them anywhere.
Thanks, that makes sense now, so I can try utopian.io:)
Thank you @chenlocus !
As the number of sponsors increase, will it decrease the profits we get or not? @elear
The profit depends by the number of posts, how much they gain and how much you have delegated. It will not decrease because the more power the more Steem has Utopian, the more the votes will value and the more the posts will gain, if you get my point :)
How could I miss that!
Sorry mate.
I now realise that it was childish to ask 😂 @elear
wow, gorgeous layout!
can you please tell us some more about the privacy and security of keys and data storage on that domain's servers if any?
thank you for your time.
Very nice!
Hmm as a graphic designer this is interesting! I'm gonna look into it ;)
Cool @rkrijgsman !
I will resteem this for you, but what I really want to know, in layman terms, is how to make steemit work properly and we do not have to repost or recomment 3-6 times, and have the system working faster, to me it appears to be a bandwidth problem but I am no expert.
Hey @elear I am @utopian-io. I have just super-voted you at 99% Power!

Thank you bot :D
Is there anyway for those contributions to appear on github itself too?
@cryptoctopus next steps are changing the layout as you suggested. Give project owners the possibility to write announcements and task requests, integration of applicable categories with github. For the hackathon I am planning to make a chrome app to do also the other way around, bring utopian direclty into github ;)
