Greek Team Report #5 (04/11 - 10/11)
Welcome back! This is the Fifth Greek Team Report coming to you through Aristotle, written by @dimitrisp
Let's start this week's report with our stats for the Week 04-11 - 10/11 with our signature (not-that-fancy) graphs and words.
Contribution Totals
This week we had 4 contributions from 3 out of the 5 members of the Greek Team. Here is a breakdown:
MVP: @dimitrisp had the most contributions. (Aristotle noticed that it was probably the 3 week in a row with @dimitrisp holding that record!)
The average $/word (after removing the 25% of the curation rewards, and the 15% cut of the beneficiaries added to the contribution posts) is $0.05 (previous week's average was $0.04).
Words Translated
This week, the Greek Team translated a total of 4682 words in 3 projects (previous week's figures are 8645 words in 4 projects):
- FreeCAD (@lordneroo)
- Node.js (@dimitrisp)
- The Curious Expedition (@trumpman)
The average wordcount per contribution is 1171 words (previous week's average was 1081 words). A breakdown of words per translator can be found in this graph:
MVP: @dimitrisp, with a total of 2172 translated words.
Rewards
NOTE!:Figures may/may not be wrong, as they are calculated with today's price per contribution and rounded to 2 decimal places. This issue will be rectified when our app is in place and starts taking all information at the time of payout. All money figures are after removing the 25% of the curation rewards, and the 15% cut of the beneficiaries added to the contribution posts.
The total amount of rewards the Greek Team has gotten this week is $227.01 (the previous week's figure was $322.84). As always, we have 2 graphs for this section, the first one is an average USD per word for each translator:
MVP: This week, we have a 2-way tie between @lordneroo & @trumpman for the highest reward per word again ($0.05, an increase from the previous week's $0.04).
In the second graph, we can see the total amount each user has gotten in total.
MVP: @dimitrisp with $96.32 (previous week's MVP was @dimitrisp with a total of $138.98)
Other info
This week, Aristotle complained about the low count of contributions! He noticed @katerinaramm and @ruth-girl didn't submit one. However, he understands that people have other things to do as well (that might be Steemit related), and at some point this will happen again!
Also, he said he was glad that no contribution went unvoted by @utopian-io!
If you would like to see more stats/information, feel free to let us know below in the comments.
Community Status
App Status
The past few days, Aristotle ordered @dimitrisp to go and work on some other things, outside of Steemit, so the App saw no progress. Aristotle said "@dimitrisp should be back soon!"
Curation Trail
Aristotle is upvoting the Greek Team's posts, the posts of his supporters (those who delegated some SP to him) all posts by @utopian-io, and all translation contribution posts.
In the past 7 days, Aristotle upvoted 48+ authors on 85+ posts, giving out $1.67+ in total rewards.
The current voting weights are:
- Translation contributions: 10%/post
- @utopian-io: 100% upvote on 1 post/day
- Greek Team: 100% upvote on 1 post/day
- Delegators: 3% per 10SP delegated on 1 post/day
The upvote for delegators is not guaranteed. Aristotle thought it would be nice to give something back to them, but if the Voting Mana is not enough to upvote the translation contributions, the delegators may not get their upvotes.
We are monitoring Aristotle's Voting Mana, and we barely see it go below 90% (most of the time, it ranges between 97%-100%)
Pick of the Week
Each week, Aristotle is going to pick a projects and say a few words about them. We've asked him to prepare a questionnaire for the team, but he said it might take him some time!
Let's have a quick look on his Pick of the Week.
GDevelop (@ruth-girl)
GDevelop is an open-source video game creation software. With GDevelop, you can create video games for Desktops (Windows, Linux & Mac OS X) as well as Mobiles and Tablets (Android for now, iOS is coming soon).
You can also export games to be uploaded and played through your web browser (either on Facebook or in other Web Platforms such as https://itch.io/) or as native apps.
GDevelop has ongoing development. Most features are free (some may have limits, such as the Native app exporter, but those limits can be raised with a subscription that costs €2-€7/month).
GDevelop features an Event system, that makes game development a breeze for anyone! You don't have to know how to code to create something. And you are limited by your own imagination! You can create any type of 2D games (and some types of 3D games).
What is even more amazing, is that GDevelop started as a one-man-show (thank you Florian Rival for this!) and because it is open-source, other people may help by submitting fixes and anything they like, via pull requests on the app's Github repository
You can learn more and download GDevelop, over at their website, by clicking here
That's it for this week! Aristotle would like to thank you for reading this long wall of text! Until next time...
- @dimitrisp for Aristotle / @aristotle.team
@aristotle.team is still young and small, but we have faith in his potential and great ideas coming from his hard-working team! Thanks to people who have shown trust in him, we have gathered delegations by:
We are thankful for that and we hope to live up to your expectations, guys!
We aspire to become even stronger and manage to give back a piece of the support Utopian has been offering to us and the opensource community.
We are proud to be part of such a huge, community effort and we will keep doing our best, contributing in any way that we can!
Indeed! This report is informative and well described. Comprises necessary information of all activities in the Greek team. Kudos!
I perceive it's a quiet week compare to the last report. I hope the non-active translators will be more active this week.
That said, the Gdevelop seems to be a very nice project for the creation of 2d games, I'll dig deep. Thank you for sharing the details.
Please note that while the CM hasn't changed the footer, I am not scoring #iamutopian posts based on the questionnaire. They have their own metric, and that will be the case until we go live with the new guidelines and new questionnaire, which will be comprehensive enough to reflect these types of posts.
Your contribution has been evaluated according to Utopian policies and guidelines, as well as a predefined set of questions pertaining to the category.

GDevelop is great! It helps anyone make the first step in video game development without paying anything or learning a programming language.
Thank you for your review :)
Thank you for your review, @tykee! Keep up the good work!
Aristotle, we have had a busy week but we promise to get back to work very very soon!!
I'm waiting.
Another thing I wanted to mention in this report, but I didn't want it to be lost in this wall of text, is that we had a "Call to Talk" by @elear (the founder of @utopian-io). You can voice your comments for the translations category, or read what others said, by visiting this post
