Its sad to say, but a high Reputation (even though it's totally artificial and can be bought) still holds some sort of 'oh, they must be a reasonable poster, have been here a while, and not a spammer'.
I wouldn't hold it against anyone writing reasonable stuff if they decided to go for the bot approach. It doesn't need to be excessive, but 5/10 STEEM a post will certianly help nudge this annoying number along.
