How countries play the global geopolitical game

in #usa7 years ago

Looking at how governments and countries work for sometime now, I feel there's a marked difference in the culture of playing the geopolitical game.

For example, Russia seems to be the chess player. It makes highly calculated moves and moves only if it sees itself winning. It will sacrifice even small pawns only if it can get an advantageous position. They play the game with a lot of advanced future strategy.

The Americans seem to be masters in Monopoly. They utilize their advantageous money and military power then go in and occupy any square ready to take chance with the dice but always making moves to maximize their gains and strengthen their position on the board.

The Chinese, considering themselves a new global power, have started gambling straight away. Throwing money here and there in some of the most riskiest positions and waiting it out for the geopolitical jackpot to hit them. It's like playing Mahjong on a global scale.
