The house 🏠 and workshop🎨 of the artist Carlos Páez Vilaró (1923-2014),a tireless traveler, expeditionary and researcher known internationally, who began to build it in Punta Ballena, 13km from Punta del Este, in 1958 in homage to the sun. 🌞
Today it is a museum, art gallery, café and hotel with 72 apartments all overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.🌊
The most famous creation of the artist and one of the main tourist attractions in the country.
Unique for its appearance - built without prior plans in a labyrinth artisan way as a residence of “unpredictable shapes” made of whitewashed cement and stucco.
