Isn't it nice to know what you're getting when you exchange for an upvote?
In the past i've paid 2 SBD for an upvote from @randowhale and in many instances it didn't result in a profit. It was a bit of a gamble. Sometimes it worked...sometimes it didn't.

UPDATE: If you send funds for a post that expires before I am able to upvote it...and that post expires in less than 48 hours from time it is sent to me - This is a Gamble. Reason Being - I received so many posts on the 6 th day of pay out...at various hours within the 6th day....many of these posts were on 7th day by the time i got around to upvoting.

To the right parties, depending on their investing goals, this type of arrangement could be quite beneficial for both.
I see SBDs as a liquid version of Steem. It's supposed to be pegged to $1 US dollar, but in actuality, has been trading like it's own crypto currency. They've been extremely profitable so far with their trading price being as high as double their implied value. Now that the SBD price has fallen more in line with it's implied value of $1 US(it's trading right around $1.07 right now) some could see more value in holding SBDs over Steem or Steem Power as a short term hedge against a downturn in the price of Steem.
If your goal is simply to acquire more Steem or Steem Power in the short or long term, selling SBDs for $$ to increase those assets would be beneficial to you. We all have different investing goals, and this I think is a home run of how we can accomplish those goals WITH 0 FEES and done in house on Steemit. In my opinion, this increases the value of the Steemit platform just that much more. It's literally like having access to a trading platform but all transactions are peer to peer and at no cost. Kinda brilliant! Resteemed!!
