Save an animal and earn a friend! upvote for a upvote

As a child I always loved animals and then as an adult see animals being just left and forgotten in a cell, and some getting a home and then for no fault of their own returning to the same life of imprisonment... A lot of these animals are the best loyal friend you could possibly ask for... Take for intense my pal Harvey D he is a husky beagle mix, beautiful in every way from his blue and brown eyes to his droopy ears. but what makes him so special is his love for his family (us).

He can't be away from us, He loves being around other dogs and he is so gentle and the shocking thing is he was on death row at 8 months old and they were giving him his last 3 days to have a chance to get adopted before they would put him asleep! they said he was wild and never had been around people he had to be rehabilitated!!! Which is shocking to me. they said they found him wild as a pup and had to literally trap him in a cage!

Well when our dog Kojack past away my little girls were heartbroken and so we decided to go to the pound and find a dog that needs us as much as we need him, well we sure did that day! My daughter Kyndra picked out one dog and it didn't have the spark we wanted so we went back to the cages and Harvey caught our eye and so we told them we wanted to take him outside! when they took him out of the cage the howl was so weird we never heard it before, it is a husky howl but with a beagle tone/squeal. he ended up jumping lightly on kyndra who is so tiny 6 years old 38 pounds, he was literally hugging her with joy, she started laughing and smiling so big with her thumb up in the air.

from there on he is spoiled and fat lol he loves pizza and will literally wait for the pizza guy at the door once he hears the sound of papa john's greeting on the phone! If you say I love you he will say it back repeatedly. But most shocking is they said he was wild well I recently had a baby and they are inseparable. He is so gentle and she will grunt and scream reaching for him and he will come running and lick her hands and she will grab his tongue or his ear and he just rolls over and wants her to rub his belly. which i doubt he understands she cannot!

And another point we baby sat a tiny puppy last month and I mean tiny as a squirrel, and it ended up getting stuck under the coffee table. Harvey shockingly put his nose under his rear and lifted him up over the coffee table rails. and licked him and laid beside him all day. and whined when he left.

My conclusion please do not let a dog or a cat from the shelter stay and live the short life they have in there. Most of them will be the best friend you would ever have!
