An innovative ship without fuel is sent on the first journey

In the 21st century, the most unexpected technologies are developing in the design of various transport. Because of this technological process, once again "come to life" items that were long ago forgotten, and recently they were considered to be obsolete, to be honest.
Toyota became the first and main investor in the project to recreate the newest experimental ship, which, according to the idea of designers, will generally do without fuel. Work vessel (or rather a yacht) should be on a hybrid engine. Energy it will receive from natural sources, such as waves, light and wind. To make sure, they still put a reserve fuel source on the yacht, engineers "repented". But then the developers tried, the engine will be very unusual.

The reason is that it is a hydrogen fuel cell. Simple language, and it will work mainly from sea water. If the project shows itself in the positive side, the innovative ship will be the first non-volatile vessel since the construction of sailing ships.
The name of this ship is "Energy Observer". It is interesting that at the beginning of the idea this was supposed to be a sailboat, but the designers decided to create a modern idea and develop even further in the design. The project starts in 1983.Then the engineer of shipbuilding Nigel Airens came up with a kind of non-volatile ship, and he even managed to establish several interesting records.

After the presentation it became known that the new Energy Observer will be a conditionally small catamaran. The length of this boat will reach 30.5 meters, and the width - 12.8 meters.

Displacement of the catamaran will be 28 tons. It is not planned to carry the cargo and crew of the ship. On board the ship will be placed only a variety of research equipment, with which it will be possible to determine the further development potential of ships without fuel in the 21st century. The ship is scheduled to be sent to a long 6-year journey. Over this period of time, he will visit the territory of more than 50 states.
