The technological world is so big and it's expanding so much at such a fast rate that it has now become extremely hard to keep your self up to date with new technologies and new ways of doing things. However, keeping yourself updated is essential, and being able to adapt to new technologies is a skill that a developer must have.

Be more specific

The first step that you should take, is to choose a more specific topic that you are interested about or that is related in what you are doing. If you are a hardware engineer, of course, you'll want to read articles related to hardware rather than software.

Join a community

After you narrowed down your search, join a community! Get in touch with other people that share the same interests. There are countless ways to do this and you can choose what you prefer most. There are plenty of amazing communities on popular platforms such as Discord, Reddit, Slack and the list goes on. Not only is a community great for discussing cutting-edge technology, but you can also work on projects and socialize with people within the community. Communities are awesome, but it can be hard to find one that you really like...

It doesn't just end there! There are other things you can do for example visit news websites. Say that you are an ethical hacker, you can't afford to be clueless about what is happening around you. A great website for hackers is [TheHackerNews](https://thehackernews.com/) for example. Otherwise, if you are interested in cryptocurrencies, you can visit certain forums and ask people questions. Reddit has a huge community on cryptocurrencies, check it out! If you are more of the hardware type of guy, you might want to follow some youtube channels that perform some crazy experiments and discuss new hardware coming out, just like [Linus Tech Tips](https://www.youtube.com/user/LinusTechTips) or [HardwareCanucks](https://www.youtube.com/user/HardwareCanucks). Twitter is also a great platform where many posts are made directly from companies to showcase their new products or ideas.
