@surpassinggoogle #untalented-adjustments - The struggle of a mom to succeed for her kid
When I was in college, I took up B.S. Psychology since I dreamed to become a doctor someday. But due to our family's financial status, I knew I could not pursue medicine and so I set aside that dream. After college, I managed to land a job in one of the government agencies as a J.O. (job order) which has a weekly salary but unfortunately has no benefits at all (no work, no pay). 2 years passed and I decided to look for a better opportunity and that was when my callcenter life began.
I first worked in one of the call centers in Cagayan de Oro City as a TSR (Technical support rep) and only lasted for almost a year. I was having a hard time adjusting to the work schedule and couldn't handle the kind of pressure which I know most if not all call center employees can only understand (crazy no. of metric goals to hit is just one!!! Lol!). Anyway, after my first call center job, that was when I got pregnant to a very smart and cute little baby boy.
My son Benj changed the whole world to me. When he came into my life, everything was suddenly just not about me and what I want anymore, but anything and all about him. He taught me to be more focused in life and prioritized more important things in this world. He turned my world upside down in the most awesome way! :)
But sometimes in life, when you think everything just seems to be good, it's where you will be tested. I came to a point where I needed to decide just for me and my baby's future (yes, his dad and I parted ways). So, Benj was 7 mos. old when I left him with my parents to work in Cebu. :( For a mom like me, it is always one of the most difficult and painful decisions to make but I needed a higher income to raise and support my son alone. So, I had to leave with a heavy heart.
My callcenter adventure continued in Cebu and lasted for 8 rollercoaster years with me going home every once in a while if my son is not on vacation with me. I had my ups and downs but these experiences are my greatest lessons in life, I would not exchange it for anything I have sacrificed for my son.
Here are some of pics I have during the years:
Made friends who became my second family and celebrated years of laughters and birthdays with them:
I got promoted as a QA and worked for 5 years in my last company until I resigned last Nov. 2016:
A couple of months after, I joined my cousin's realty firm in Dumaguete as a property executive/lead trainer (commission based) and here I got another shot to a dream of financial freedom. It's not that easy and it never will but with dedication and hard work, I know that I can. I am always a firm believer of faith and perseverance. So here I am, trying my luck with the "unemployed but productive" world.
With a lot more hardwork, I and 2 of my business partners also ventured out into a food business and joined food festivals in Dumaguete. And the FoodCrib was born! :)
But due to higher capital demands of the business, I needed an extra income and never stopped thinking and finding ways to materialize our plan for the FoodCrib.
@eduard104, a very good and generous friend of mine then introduced me to Steemit which I am very excited about as I also love writing! Not to mention the possible income I could get that will definitely help realize my dream for my son and my family.
And because of these and steemit, we will definitely soon be able to rise the "FoodCrib Southern Cuisine" at Dad's Gastro Park in Daro, Dumaguete!!! In Jesus name, we believe. Amen!

Ofcourse, this would not happen if not for a great mentor @surpassinggoogle who always inspires us to do more. For making us realize how we have become through writing and sharing our stories in #untalented-adjustments and inspire others as well. I hope I can give value to the community by doing so. :) Thank you @surpassinggoogle!
