WINTER IN BELGRADE

Hello steemians,in the spirit of VALENTINE!
I just hope we all had a good night but at a
personal level your location might just come
to play a role on how your night turns out to
be.

Living in Belgrade,the largest city in serbia
with over 1.3million population and located
at the confluence of the Sava and Danube rivers
comes with its very challenges at winter time
where temperatures drop to about -1°C at which
clean water freezes and the heavy snow also
compliments the low temperature and as an
african i can only feel the excess cold trying
to break into my lungs and freeze up my tracts.
The heavy snowfall can fall to thickness of about
20-30 inches and causes difficulty driving very
early in the morning when the roads are still
covered until they are cleared with tractors
that apply salt over the snow to reduce the
freezing point of the ice to about -8°C(this
process makes the snow difficult to freeze
and makes the melting easier)

I find it difficult to come outside during this
period but with Jasmina's persuasion i try
to take a walk in the snow knowing i need
to train myself to get so accustomed to this
trend.Whenever I find myself in Nigeria i get
the feeling that the sun there could melt my
skin because of the adaptation i am recieving
in Belgrade.It is not very easy for one to switch
climates that vary by over 20°C in difference and
this is why most white men and foreigners find it
a daunting task to move their investments to
Africa.

I just cannot wait for the winter period to be
over in some weeks time.Those who stay in
very cold parts of the world would always tell
you they prefer the temperate summers to
the harsh cold hands of the winter.It makes me
wonder how the Eskimos survive in the coldest
parts of the world where there is rarely summer
though they are created with fats under their
skin which protects them from the harsh cold
in places like Alaska,Denmark,Norway,Northern Russia and of course Antarctica(though there are
no permanent residents there)

It is a great sight though to behold the works
of Jehovah and how he created the Earth with
specifications and weird habitats.Indeed after
beholding these sights one can only come to
the realization of the truth that we are not by
any margin,created by Evolution or any Big
Bang Theory.
