Where is the place of Women Entrepreneurship in our society?
Is been long I wrote this post but it still needs some editing but I have no time for that. So I decided today to subdue the spirit of procrastination and pick up my pen.
let me start by telling this story of a friend by name Clara. We finished high school and she decided to open a fashion enterprise. Because that's what she enjoys doing and have gathered ideas on how to start up a company.
as her friends we gave her the moral support she necessary. But there was a serious problem facing her, that is finance.
Her parents never agreed to the idea on the ground that she is a girl and they have tried to train her to high school. When she pressed harder they told her that they have done their part in training her till high school.
"You should get married" her mum shouted at her one day and this made her look outside for finance. All the financial institutions that she approached refused her loan on the ground of no collateral.
Finally, she got married to a man who promised to see her through her vision. At first there are talks and preparation about the vision
But where is the vision, it's no where to be found. Because presently she is crippled by children and house chores.
This is how millions of ideas businesses failed and some never see the lime light.
Where is the place of WOMEN ENTREPRENEURSHIP in our society?
Women Entrepreneurship is an organization and women management approach that enables women to respond to change and solve problems in whatever situation they may find themselves in.
WOMEN ENTREPRENEURs are known for there Creativity, Persistence, Attribute to hard work, Good planning and Organization, Proactive, Ability to take risk, Good Communication skills. etc.
Do we still have such women in the society today?
Ones' answer can be yes or no. Why? Because:
- Gender bias and discrimination makes women strive to start up there own business and earn more to help other women.
- Desire to succeed
- Desire to be independent
- Better work life balance
- The need to care for a family
Importance of Women Entrepreneurship
1. Employment creation: women and even men have opportunity to earn a living.
2. Capital Formation
3. Decentralization and diversification of business.
4. Promotion of an entrepreneur culture.
Here on steemit we see women making outright wave in many communities ranging from @curie @ogoowinner @gee1 @stellabelle @fitinfun e.t.c there caring nature also reflects in there activities here on steemit building and you encouraging other steemians
finally we will agree with me that women entrepreneurship is a force to reckon with. But, is the society giving them the needed moral and financial support to do so?
