Ultimate Crochet Contest
We are now on our 3rd round of this contest and I see that we have been growing. To see more and more people join is exciting!
We have gotten a couple of new people that entered in the last contest with some great entries which I will share with you all in just a moment.
I have been thinking of ways to help grow this contest so that many of you can take part in the fun and I am a bit stumped. So instead of asking myself what to do for all of you, I thought it would be better to ask you for some feedback. Because we run the contests every 2 weeks to give you time to make something up if you wish to, would it be helpful to put out reminders? Is 2 weeks too long or too short? What are your ideas that could help make this contest grow to be able to offer you something good?
Now with time not being on my side, I am a day late in writing this post and so to make it up, I, myself, will add extra SBD in the prize pool to make things right. It is entirely my fault and I take full responsibility of my actions and so I want to make it up to you.
Alright, now here are the last contest entries :D

Unfortunately the images I want to share are not uploading or are taking massive amount of time to post which has left me with little time to write up a good post and give credit to these much deserving talented people, which makes me sad. But know that all of you who entered the contest have entered really great and beautiful pieces! I see the hard work, love and dedication put into it and I congratulate each and everyone of you for your work. I know for myself I have started projects and left many unfinished so to see what you have all done here... Hats off to all!
This contest has started again for another 2 weeks (minus one day ~ sorry), @anjkara and I are looking forward to see some more amazing crochet masterpieces. I am amazed at what we have received so far. Thank you to all of you who have helped us grow this contest and have been and still continue to be a part of it and I would like to thank @fiberartists as well in contributing towards the prize pool. Enjoy the day and happy crocheting!
Rules
Use the tags #UltimateCrochet and #crochet
Write a blog featuring pictures of your favourite crochet masterpiece (finished or unfinished). Include pictures and write a little, telling us what it is and why you made it.
Post a link to this blog in the comments below.
It must be CROCHET: clothing, accessories, toys, art... anything, as long as it is crochet.
The more you share the more we can grow which means that you grow also! What I enjoy the most about this contest is that I get to see all of us connecting together and supporting one another on what we all do. Plus we get to meet new people from around the world :D
P.S. Keep a lookout for the winners post by @anjkara. I will be updating this post as well once it has been made ^_^

I think that these contests are awesome! I am hoping that come fall i can enter a few pieces! I think that 2 weeks is a good amount of time with a gentle reminder! I have resteemed. Hoping that more people can be reached!!
Great job guys!
Thank you for resteeming that is quite helpful and generous of you. The last time we forgot to write a reminder post, time just slipping by. It only feels like just one week went by and not 2. Well I best be on my toes!
Thanks for getting the word around @earthmother. We really appreciate it <3
I think 2 weeks is a good time frame. Gives people a chance to make something from scratch if you ever decide to do contest themes.
I know one thing that helps other contests gain traction is to request those entering to share the contest post. I actually tried to resteem the last contest after I entered, but I guess you can't once a post has paid out. This would be where @vliet suggestion of doing a halfway reminder might come in. That way late entrants can still share with any of their followers that might be interested in entering.
I also work as a designer if you want a thumbnail designed for the contest to add consistency. Can do it free of charge since I'm sure I'll be entering more contests with ya'll.
Anyway, take all that with a grain of salt. Consisency is the best ingredient to grow a Steemit audience, as I'm sure you know. So, if you ladies just keep at it like you have been, I'm sure you'll get a larger entry pool no matter how you proceed.
@anjkara and I would like to take you up on your offer :) Thought it would be a great idea and would help towards making these posts better as you have stated with consistency. Thank you greatly for offering us this kind gift! We appreciate it and your words of advice as well ^_^
This is exciting that we get to work together. Makes me happy to see that we can all work as a team :D
Of course! I’m happy to help. I should mention that I am currently working full time and have a 4 month old, though. So it may take me a minute to get something polished and ready to go.
Do you guys want anything in particular in mind, or do I have free reign (you can check out my Etsy banner design here if you want a feel for my style)?
You can take your time no worries, I have 3 young ones myself so I totally get it. That's a cute, simple and elegant banner. It is lovely to look at and calming. Good job!
Thank you @hglucky13. I love your Etsy banner and I think I've fallen in love with 'Mamma Roo and Joey Too'. You're so talented :D
Thanks! It helped that I was working off of a really awesome pattern. I’ll try to get some thumbnail ideas roughed out for you and @foxyspirit this week.
That's great. No hurry. Do things at your own pace. You're already so busy :)
Thanks
Thank you @foxyspirit (and @anjkara) for organizing and putting this together (and to @fiberartists for contributing to the prize fund). Everyone's work is really unique and beautiful in their own ways and the crafters are sooo talented. Bless you gals for bringing this craft and passion to recognition! I think 2 weeks is good with a little reminder or two in between. You can post a little reminder during the #NeedleworkMonday too because there are a number of crocheters who follow the feed.
That's a perfect suggestion to use the tag :D Thank you ^_^ We will work on making this more visible. Thank you for commenting and bring a part of it and for your words of encouragement! It helps us keep going :)
Thanks @marblely
Wonderful suggestions <3
Hi @foxyspirit !
Thanks for the mention!
I think a contest every two weeks is good enough, since it's not too short a period of time for making something and not too long so as to forget about it. Although on the point of forgetting, I think some sort of reminder would be a great idea, since I personally get lost in the sea of content and contest deadlines...
All the best to all entries! I was going to say here which projects are my favorite, but after looking through all of them, I find each fun and attractive in their own way. I'll leave the judging to you... :D
Thank you for taking the time for commenting. I agree we should write out a reminder, perhaps half way through? Or maybe when its the last 3-4 days?
These are things I will also be discussing with @anjkara so it's good to have it put out there.
Also I need to edit this post for the rules again. My brain is out to space I think lol.
Lol @ brain in space. If you come across my brain while you're out there will you tell it to come home :P
I think 3-4 days before the deadline is a good time to get tagging crafters with a reminder. Great idea :D
I will definitely send your brain home if I see it. Although that means that I will have to send it express shipping cause it shouldn't be all the way over here lol. But I might just use it some before I send it, if that's ok :P
hahahah ok, you can use it for a bit, but I take no legal responsibility for any mess it gets you into :P
Thanks @vliet
I think reminding people is a great idea. I'm always forgetting things that are on the go and missing deadlines. Cheers :)
Hi @foxyspirit! I am sending my entry again for the 3rd round. I did not win last time but I've seen others did a good piece. Nevertheless, I hope you'll like my achievement. Here it is:
