Cannon, Conventional Weapon Witnesses Militancy Nation of Aceh in Pidie

Cannon is one of the weapons used in the war in the past. The cannon is the first milestone of Artillery creation which is now a weapon that every armed force must possess. The first known cannon guns appeared in the 3rd century BC in Alexandria which was designed by Ctesibius.

The cannon was also used during the war of Atjeh against the Portuguese and Dutch invaders.
According to Jacob Rijck Van Opmeer, since the beginning of the XVII century the Acehnese have been able to use and make cannons. The cannon produced at the time was made of bronze, copper, or iron.
However, most of the cannon possessed by the Acehnese is a reward and spoils of war.

In Pidie according to some sources used to be found in the former war cannon between Aceh and the Netherlands, only now the cannons are not in the know anymore existence.

One of the remaining ones is like a cannon located in Gampong Meunasah Ulee Tutue, Aree mukim. The cannon was found by residents in the river and moved in the Meunasah gampong's yard
The cannon contained in Meunasah Gampong Ulee Tutue is a production from Spain. Year of manufacture listed 1800 M, This can be seen from the symbols and inscriptions contained on the cannon.
