ULOG #8 : My Diary (Part 1)
By the way ... I forgot to tell you about my work, I was a teacher at one of my junior high schools in Lhokseumawe-Aceh.
I taught a number of subjects such as English, Indonesian and cultural arts. Even though my educational background was a bachelor's degree in English, I was required to teach other subjects besides English.
I started my career as a teacher since 2007 until now. So there have been many stories that I experienced as a teacher, not only that in the two years ago I have been entrusted to be a homeroom teacher until now,to guiding class and arranging everything about student personalities. class conditions of course
in addition to teaching, the task of the teacher is also to make teaching materials, such as planning the implementation of learning in a year, therefore every learning time at school ends then I take a break and continue again by typing the teaching material. So I can say from morning to evening I am at school and arrived at home I continued again with my housework then after that I immediately fell asleep caused tired and not thinking to make a post.
Honestly even though I uses go to college, I never wanted to be a teacher until the time when I had to determine my way of life.
It all started with my father who suddenly got seriously ill because his blood pressure suddenly rises so that he suffered a stroke and my father's left leg numb, even though now he was able to walk but didn't walk normally like most people walked in general.
In this situation I think what I can do to help family finances because my father's condition is no longer possible to work, I have a younger sister who is still in school and an older brother, but at that time he had a family and lived far from us, so only me who has been my family's hope
After that I decided to look for a job, and luckily I immediately got a job but became a teacher, without thinking long I immediately accepted the job even though I only became a contract teacher.
But now day by day I have enjoyed my work as a teacher. I love my students even though their behavior sometimes makes me annoyed but it's not a problem,because we also ever feel the same when we were still been students Lol ...
Now in my mind is how to make my students become smart, creative and of course have good moral values. I consider this is a challenge for myself because the teacher is not just teaching but also educating.

Ini smp mana tah? Kayaknya mtsn lhokseumawe yaa? Seragam putih2 soalnya 😐 uhm.. keadaan sering membuat arah perjalanan kita berbelok, iusa ke arah yg lebih baik bisa ke arah yg salah pula. Alhamdulillah, @yati bisa menikmati profesi sbg gurunya sudah lebih dari 10 tahun. Masih guru kontrak?

SMP 1 kak,itu foto diambil waktu 17 Agustus,mereka grup paduan suara.
Iya nih kak masih guru kontrak,bisa diatakan kontrak abadi,hehehe

Lihat foto ruangan kelasnya siy udah curiga, tapi nggak nemu jejak pohon besar, padahal anak nyanyi biasanya memang berdiri dibawah pohon besar itu😂 dulu sering nyanyi disitu tiap senin atawa upacara tahunan (resiko anak kelas inti ya banyak kali dapat tugas begitu dulu)
Cuma heran kok jadi beda gitu emblem lokasinya jadi ijo, arrgghh tidak pernah ke sana sejak 28 tahun lalu siy😂. Dulu, guru bahasa inggris kami keren2 kali.. makanya hampir separuh lulusan smpsa yg masuk ke smansa pas lulus.. nilai nem bhs inggrisnya minimal 9 semua.
Dulu fkip bahasa inggrisnya dimana?
Siapa dulu kepala sekolah sm guru bahasa inggris kk,mungkin mereka masih ngajar sampek sekarang.
Kondisi sekolah emang udah beda banget kak sama yang dulu,udah banyak di renovasi yang masih tertinggal kenang-kenangan belanda dulu ya cuma ruangan kelas 3 yang berada dibawah sama pohon besarnya.Mutu smp 1 sekarang udah gak sm kayak dulu kak...sekarang dibawah rata-rata semua.
Menyedihkan.. padahal pernah jadi RSBI, tidak ada lagi guru yg mengajar, saya bertemu salah satu guru saya di Banda Aceh bbrp tahun lalu, bu Cut Yenizar sdg ikut pelatihan caleg perempuan malah 😂 bu Salmi dan bu Siti Zahroh adalah guru bahasa inggris lainnya yg selalu bikin anak2 semangat belajar dgn gaya khasnya masing2.
Tapi pohon besar masih ada kan? Kalau ruangan kelas 3 kan memang dipertahankan. Yg ditambah cuma sebelah utara dan selatan saja mungkin. Bbrp kali reuni saya nggak pernah datang siy, kalau kangen cuma ke rumah mantan guru bahasa indonesia saja Bu Aminah yg dekat rumah di Hagu Selatan siy.
Aduh kak ... Ternyata guru-guru yang kakak sebutin itu memang udah gak ada lagi disini,udah pensiun mungkin kak,hehehe..
Pohon besar masih tetap dipertahankan kak,ibarat udah jadi maskot di smp 1 😁
syukurlah bila pohon itu masih berdiri megah disana, tahu nggak.. perlu waktu bertahun-tahun bagiku untuk mengingat namanya tidak sekedar pohon besar saja. sekarang sudah dikasih tembok keliling yang bisa diduduki yaa? dulu siy kita duduknya di akar-akar yang menjulur besar dan pernah berusaha memanjat, namun selalu berhasil dicegah oleh penjaga sekolah.. hahahaha, maklum lah, masing-masing bisa menggunakan imajinasinya untuk memanfaatkan keberadaan pohon besar tapi nggak ada hantunya sama sekali.
dibawah pohon itu sebelum ada lapangan basket, ada segerombolan kk kelas sewaktu masa sekolah saya dulu yang menguasai tempat itu, bahkan saat pramuka pun mereka selalu berkumpul di situ, yang pasti di sisi kiri dan kanan pohon itu adalah tempat favorit saat upacara bendera, adem siy... oh iya, sekarang dibelakang pohon kan ada ruang kelas bertingkat juga ya? nah di sudut dekat ke kamar mandi atau gedung bertingkat yang tampat di foto itu ada kantin favourite murid yang sering datang terlambat atau alasan ke kamar mandi padahal nongki2 disitu selama lebih dari 5 menit.. hahahaha
Iya kak,sekarang pohon besar tu udah di kelilingi beton buat duduk2...jadi banyak anak yang nyantai disitu setiap jam istirahat.
Letak kantinnya masih sama kak,masih jadi tempat favorit...alasan sih pergi ke kamar mandi tapi setelah di cek dan ricek ternyata anak-anak emang pada nongkrong disitu,hahaha...
Teachers are the second parents of students every time the students are in school. You teachers are one of the strongest foundations of students' life and the persons they become in the future. As you said, being a teacher is a challenge but think of the lives that you will be touching as you go along.

You seem to have a roller coaster ride as a teacher and in your family and life in general. I commend you for your resolve to help your father. I pray for his continued good health as to you. Take care of yourself always so you can take care of your family more.
It is understandable that you don't visit as much. That is okay. Priorities come first.
I had a glimpse of the opening ceremony of the Asian Games. I was overwhelmed by the Indonesia! Lol! I have never seen a sea of happy red and white the way you did it. It was exciting to watch and I bet exhilarating to be part of it.

I see Philippines also playing well in ASEAN games..by playing sportsmanship, it has become a win for all of us ... hopefully the brotherhood between Asian countries will remain intertwined through the next ASEAN games competition.

Hi @tryskele, Thank you for your visited my bolg.Sometimes I feel like I am at a saturation point or stuck in a corner where I am bored with my work, but when I remember my students as soon as I leave that feeling by choosing to change it by enjoying and grateful for all that I have got to this day, that is actually the greatest happiness in life. , that is thankful for what we got yesterday, today or later.
HI @yati 😃 I think that's normal with any job. When things are going the way they should, life gets boring. I hope you don't have the problems we have here. Students disrespect teachers, even to the point of getting violent with them. Going to school has turned into babysitting. Teachers hope for 1 or 2 students that want to succeed.
Yeah you're right @tryskele, I hope there are at least 1 or 2 students who want to be truly successful in the future.
