ULOG #39: Unpleasant Moments Accompanied by Motherhood..

There are actually many things that is considered unpleasant when it comes to motherhood. But I can say, having a sick child is the worst. No matter how careful we are with our children, the control of having illness or feeling pain will never be in our hands. And seeing our child like this really sucks.

It is the second day my son was confined at the hospital. As I look at his face with all those sores and spots caused by infection my heart is crushed. We never really expected that his case would be like this. And the infection was spreading fastly in his face, chest especially on his wrist. It was like the bacteria are eating his flesh. I can't even look at it closely. I feel so bad about him.

According to his doctor, it was impetigo.

Impetigo is a common and highly contagious skin infection that mainly affects infants and children. It usually appears as red sores on the face, especially around a child's nose and mouth, and on hands and feet. The sores burst and develop honey-colored crusts.

Cause:

You're exposed to the bacteria that cause impetigo when you come into contact with the sores of someone who's infected or with items they've touched — such as clothing, bed linen, towels and even toys.

I am assuming he got this bacteria in school which I cannot control who he will be talking to or playing with. I am not really sure. Or maybe he got this while playing with our neighbor/ playmate who got also ill a week ago. He also had spots all over his body. I don't really know. I am not blaming anybody here. I am just trying to trace where he might got it.

I really hate to see my child connected with this tubes/ fluids (IV and antibiotic) but we don't have a choice. At least we are seeing some improvements with his condition.

Another thing that his doctor found out was his cough/cold might have been worsen already. So, he was being nebulized also.

With all of this, I know we are going to pay a lot of money for the hospital expenses. We are in a private room because he should be isolated and in a private hospital since public hospitals here doesn't have private rooms plus his antibiotics for his skin condition and cough.

This is actually killing me. I don't know where can I find means to pay our expenses here. My salary is still on the 3rd or last week of the month. But our priority is his health and safety.

I am actually hoping that I could find help through steemit but I don't know if there would be people who would help me. I know there are many generous people here who have helped me with my school and with my children in school but I don't know if they would also be able to help me with my own son. I am not sure if they would be willing to lend their helping hands when I gently knock on their hearts again.

I pray my son would be healed so soon.
