It's All Good!

I found this weird hat laying around, so that makes today #haturday!!!
Look - it even has these flaps that keep the ears warm or wrap under the chin.
Weather appropriate for Wisconsin winters? Yes! Would I ever step foot outside with this thing on? Absolutely not! I'll just go ahead and post it on social media for the world to see instead. Yes, that's what I'll do! The sweet and lovely @saffisara started this fun tag. 🤗
The main reason for this post is to just kind of share the positive things happening in our lives. I'm in a really good place right now, so I'll throw it all out there in no particular order. Hmm, where to start...
My eldest son Javin took the Noetic Math test, and had the highest score in the entire school, and one of highest in the district. It was a very proud moment for this mama! He's turning into a fine little man. Last night, he asked his 3 year old sister Sophia if she would like him to read to her. What was so cool about it though, is it was completely unprompted.
The final Christmas family event we attended was on January 2nd. We all gathered at Jared's aunts house and visited immediate as well as extended family. There, the children each received some of the most heartfelt gifts I've ever seen. His aunt put a ton of time and energy into restoring 2 little wooden chests for the 2 older kids, and restoring 3 antique mirrors for the younger 3 kids. Oh my gosh they are gorgeous.

I mean, seeing those for the first time rendered me speechless. It was so thoughtful of her to take on a project like that.
In other news, I downloaded an app that made an avatar out of me. It's mostly so my husband and I can message back and forth using our avatars. It's my new favorite thing. I am also a dork.
Now for the best news of all!
Starting last night, Jared was allowed to come back and live with us again! We are so glad that we are all together, and I really couldn't have asked for a better New Year's present. This year is shaping up to be quite fine indeed. ❤

I found out it's a hat used by the Austrian army - picked up from a military surplus store.

Those mirrors look fantastic, it's amazing how with a little hard work and creativity you can rejuvenate old items like that.
