One of the things that should put our eyes on the ball in ministry is thus:
"God is not gender sensitive nor selective"..... He doesn't do gender! He pours Himself on all and in all irrespective of what gender it is!
One of the things that tend to put us under pressure alot of times is the issue of MARRIAGE!
I realized something key....
The fear of failure makes you vulnerable to fail!! Fear has and will never produce anything good!!!
The pressure to marry will come!!
Family will talk
Uncles and Aunts that don't know how you grew up will talk
Friends and Well wishers will talk
But you must learn crowd control!!!
You must know how to handle the voices, worries and suggestions they bring!!
If you don't handle the pressure properly....every Tom becomes a husband material! Every "hello, hi" becomes a marriage proposal!!
That's a disaster waiting to happen!!!
First thing first....
We didn't come to this life to marry! No body was given a mandate to marry! It is a thing of choice! If you don't want to marry, it's your choice! Nobody gets rewarded for getting married!! You won't die if you don't!!!
But hey! Count the cost of that decision!
Also with those who want to marry! Every of your choices comes with its cost!
So if you want to marry:
Put your desires is Check!!!! No body! I repeat no body should put you under pressure! Irrespective of your age! Pressure will push you into making mistakes!!!
You cannot just marry anybody!! No matter how many yards he is! It's beyond emotional attachments and sentiments!
Don't allow anyone threaten you that those who do ministry do not have good marriages neither should anyone make you feel you won't get a good spouse because you are doing ministry!
Lots of sisters have dropped and are dropping ministry for marriage! We are losing our vibrant sisters to "husband's house".
Marriage and ministry are not in conflict!!! The Bible isn't silent on both!
Don't begin to console yourself with:
"There is nothing to lose, every body don't have to do ministry. My home is my ministry"
That's confusion!!!
Don't get it twisted! Marriage is marriage! Ministry is ministry!!! Put them in their place!
Some sisters were pursuing the things of God until they met "their dream man" and everything ended!
They paused and even stopped everything just to please him....
Glad you said it's a dream man.... wake up to reality please! You are sleeping too much!
Whom you marry will largely affect your ministry! You don't want to end up with a man who always want to eat pounded yam when you want to go for ministration!
Deal with the pressure!! Don't allow people that will not follow you home after the wedding make a mess of your life.
Focus on your assignment!
Focus on your ministry!
At the right time.... Things will fall in place!!!
A dream man that silenced your ministry is a nightmare!!
In all your desire to get married, don't lose touch of your assignment!!!
