Do You know what a Minnow really looks like?? - Ulog#10
Soooo I have been busting my chops to try and get my rep and SP up on steemit!!! This has been one of my top priorities for the past 2 months now, right up there with balancing running a business, running my life and keeping fit!
The road to Minnowhood has gotten me bad, but in reality, I'm nowhere close, I actually just got off delegation let alone and nowhere close to even hitting triple digits yet!!! But I push through, I wake up each d day, and I keep on steeming on!! Just keep swimming, I tell myself you will get!
I Keep Swimming
I enter contests, engage with users, find some cool like-minded people to connect all while keeping in mind not to become a circle jerk!! I say: "Hey mimismartypants you got this!!!, you'll be a Minnow soon enough!!"
Then 2 days ago a thought occurred to me, I actually don't know what does a Minnow really looks like! In fact, I have never heard of a Minnow fish before my encounter with steemit!! In fact in my initial encounters with Minnows on Steemit, in the days before I realised that all the levels were fish related, I thought Minnow was a cute name for Minotaur! You know the scary badass bull-like creature from greek mythology, let me show you a pic!
But I digress, so I figure if Planktons, Dolphins, Orcas and Whales are all real sea life! Minnows have to be too, maybe I'm just living under a rock here, but these were my thoughts.
So, I turned to my old trusty pal Google and look what I found!! And you can imagine my disappointment!
You Have Got To Be Kidding Me!!!
I'm working my butt off to become what looks like a Sardine!! You cant even fit a pair of pants on that thing!! 500SP is not easy to come by, and the next stop to glory would be Dolphinhood, a very majestic creature! So from thinking I'm gonna represent something badass (such as above minotaur, to actually aiming to be a sardine is somewhat disappointing!! And magically with even more hard work I, or rather we, will get to finally gain some respect in this ocean we call a blockchain by turning into a dolphin!!
Alternatives To Replace The Minnow Icon
Naturally, I know that reaching Minnow status will give me some street cred on the block(chain)! Hence, i thought i would make some suggestions to alternative sea life taht could better represent our blood sweat and tears, so we can represent more than just a sardine!!
1. Batoids a.k.a. Rays
According to Wikipedia "Batoidea is a superorder of cartilaginous fish commonly known as rays. THere are over 600 species of these rays! Sting, Manta, Skate, Electric, take your pick, any one of them would have been better than a Minnow! Look how awesome they are:
1. Bright and Colourful Tropical Fish
We are all familiar with these beautiful creatures, they might be small in size, but they got game!! Anyone of these would do too! Just look at that!
Before This Rant Goes On forever!
Let me just stop here, before I continue and go down a rabbit hole that will only be lost on the blockchain! You get what I'm trying to say, I'm disappointed, what a cruel joke steemit founders!! All I'm asking for is just a little respect! Justa little bit! Just a little bit!

If you can spare it, there is no better time to buy your Minnowhood. Since purchasing mine my 500 SPs has grown to 600. That is a pretty good ROI; although it was the cool voting sliding bar that was my motivation. 😎
It really is soooooooo tempting!!! But i made a bet with my ither half that i could make this work organically!! He thinks it's a waste of time!! So of course i have to prove him wrong!!! If its the last thing i do!!

When I went fishing as a boy all I ever caught was minnows out of our local canals and river, I always put them carefully back though. They are actually quite a nice fish, if very very tiny!
I think a Ray would be a far more encouraging target to reach 500 SP. As for 🐬 , I don't like to blow my own trumpet so to speak, but take a look in my Wallet when you next get chance.

Where are you from? The Uk? When we did it as kids there were only tadpoles to find! I guess we also probably have different types of fresh water fish in south africa!

That was hilarious! I loved it! I want to be a RAY, Manta preferably - it's color scheme fits with my uniform.
I'm almost to sardine.... but only cause I bought myself there. Keep on steeming Mimi or miss miss smarty pants (so what I want to call you)! The blockchain is a better place with you in it!

My uniform is black and/or white.... and denim.
I prefer the Steve Jobs approach to wardrobe. Or maybe it's garanimals (do you know those?) where everything matches everything else. You'll never find me straying too far - I have a few pink and red things - but mainly - black and white baby.
Me and Manta's we match.
Garanimals?? Google says its a kids clothing line im not sure we get them here. But then again i don't buy kids clothing, yet! Lol but seriously how short are you that you fit into those😂😂😂
I get it though my cupboard is overloaded with greys and black and demim!! I try not to buy more grey but iy speaks to me damit!!

Miss miss! You’re costing me $! I just bought more SP cause of this post (like this Manta idea has taken me over!) Now I’m within a few Steem of the mythical slider. Gimme a few days and poof! I’m a Ray!
As for garanimals I only wish they made them in my size. You’re going to have to find them for your munchkin when he/she???? arrives. Even with sleep deprivation you too can dress your child in a matching outfit - match zebra tag with zebra tag, lion tag with lion tag - easy as that!
I actually think it’s not until toddler sizes so they can pick their own clothes and dress themselves.
You’ve got some time before you have to cross that hurdle 🙂. How much more baking time?

Enjoy your last 3 months of not being busy. In about 6 months you’ll be asking yourself - “what did I do with all that free time I had?.”
Well, actually, you’ll probably be too sleep deprived to actually think. 😂
Yes to the crib, changing table, fancy diaper pail (the ones that hermetically seal each diaper), a truckload of diapers, onesies, burp cloths (very important! Buy ALOT), swaddling blankets (again ALOT) - and you're good for the first 3 months. Don't give into all the hype and gadgetry 😉 save your $ (oh the mistakes I made - although my love affair with gadgetry continues....now at least it's grown ups gadgetry 😂)

Shoooo that sounds like a whole lot of stuff!! Seems u need to procrastinate a bit more. I think i will juat yo the plan of waiting to see what i het gor my shower and then go from there!! So much admin , i really do hate admin lol!!
I already got a bunch of those blankets from my sister and a bouncer and some stuff from my from friend. The advantage of being one of the last yo breed!!

Have you ever play a game called feeding frenzy before? Well.. school of minnows is a tiniest in the big ocean of that game, even patrick.. oopps I mean starfish has bigger point when we hit it😊 so.. I think minnow is fine rather than sponge bob 😂

ME Too😂😂 but welcome to the steemit ocean😂 perhaps we could choose our own type of fish except from dolphins, orca and whales... dolphin eats tuna, orca eats dolphins and whale eats plankton ... so what about the minnows? Are they going to school under stingray or manta ride😂 I'd prefer sea turtle or salmon above all.

Well.. to become a minnow, I think you need 500SP... which in Steemit terms still means nothing. So the little fish is quite appropriate actually.
I don't know how many more times bigger a minnow is than a plankton, but I'm sure it's a lot... so there's that at least ;-) #GlassHalfFull
Either way.. screw minnow... Steemit life only really becomes fun from dolphin level...
