Ulog #29: I Just Remember Being With My Grandmother

Hello everyone. Today, June 15 President Rodrigo Duterte has declared a regular holiday in observance of Eid‘l Fitr. Meaning we will have a long weekend start this day, lol. My daughter will be back to school on Tuesday, because Monday is also a holiday.

This morning, while I am thinking what to write on steemit. I am also browsing my gallery looking some photo for my #ulog for today. As I scroll it down, I see my grandmother photos. Some memories flowing into my mind while I am looking at her pictures.

My grandmother is turning 85 years old this coming October 2018. She is the mother of my mother. We called her Mommy, unlike other Filipino grandchildren they call their grandmother "Lola". I don't know who started that, maybe my Cousins started to call her that. I am her 3rd apo or grand daughter. When we were young, my favorite place once school vacation arrives is in my grandmother's house.

I love being with my grandmother. Some of my cousins said that I am her favorite apo. I think they are jealous that's why I always told them that we are all her favorite. Because I can see that our grandmother take care her grandchildren in her best way. They really love us.

I also love being at my grandmother's house because all of my cousins are here. I really enjoyed my vacation every time I go there. Mangoes are in season. We are having fun climbing on a Mango tree and picking some fruits. And also it is a time of harvesting on a rice field. Me and my cousins help them to harvest. Even if I don't know how, but I also tried. I once cut my fingers by the tools they are using for cutting the "palay". I am very afraid of the blood gushing on my finger. And here comes my grandmother who cleaned it and tied a bandage on my finger to stop the wound from bleeding. That was my childhood memory that was forever in my mind. Her motherly love is always there for us.

I really love my grandmother and I also missed her. The last time I saw her is when I attend my cousin's birthday last month. But still, I really miss her, lol. I can see that she is suffering from her arthritis because she is having a difficulty in walking. And she told me while crying that she feel it that her lives won't be that long. She's really hoping that before she'll leave to this world, my mother would come home and be with my mom. I got teary eyed as she keeps on telling her wish. I am hoping that God gives her more years to spend with us. I am also praying that she will have a good health and hoping that she can wait for my mother to come home.
