Ulog #1 : It's Christmas Season!!!... Already?!
Hi there! Today is the birth of my first ulog, a wonderful idea by @surpassinggoogle.
Philippines is one of the countries in South-East Asia that is predominantly of Christian population. Maybe that's why we Filipinos are known to celebrate the world's longest Christmas season. Christmas decorations are seen almost everywhere and Christmas carols are heard as early as September (or when the "ber" months start) until January, especially in malls and public places such as plazas and Municipal/City Halls.
Well now, I think that was before. :-D
I was on my way home when I decided to pass by Glorietta (a Mall in Makati). I was surprised to see Tiange (Kiosks) inside the mall that sells Christmas decorations already despite being only the 2nd week of August. There was a lifesized-Belen (a Christmas symbol, a creche or tableau representing a Nativity scene) on the stage, Christmas trees standing on the sides and stores selling christmas theme goods, such as Christmas trees, Parols (lanterns), Belens and Santa Claus's figurines. And to those who wanted to purchase their Christmas gifts as early as August, there were also Kiosks that sells bags, accessories, paintings, etc.
One of the sellers told me that the Bazaar started last August 6 and will last until today only, August 9. He was selling Christmas Trees and Belens made from pinya (pineapple) and abaca fibers.
A display of Christmas decors made from abaca and pinya fibers.
Seeing that Bazaar reminds me of a song line Sana araw araw ay magiging pasko lagi (I hope everyday is Christmas). Well I think that time will come soon enough. Lol.
So, how early does your country prepare for Christmas?
Cheers,
Junemark

Wow! Seriously, there are already that much Christmas decors on sale at this time of the year? Amusing and amazing! Yan ang Pinoy! 😀
Yes. Lol. I was surprised as well when I saw the bazaar. It really put a smile in face, especially seeing those Santa's figurines and miniature Christmas trees. Unfortunately I wasn't able to purchase anything, my wallet is not ready yet. Haha

Your wallet will soon be filled. 😊
I haven't tried buying those Christmas stuff months earlier than the actual season so I wonder if it is lower cost to buy so early or wait until at least November?
