ULOG DAY 4: A DAY OF FEELING BLESSED.
It's been quite a while I wrote about my day because I've been off the community for some time now as a result of too much business at work and lack of constant data. But I'm back and better now.
Over the last few days, I've just been engrossed with so much work because the new site I was transferred to some weeks ago, it's been a hell of a job there. I have more than two dozens of bricklayers and labourers working on the plastering of a 5-storey hotel building that I have to manage.
It's always been tedious and stressful for me at work for the past 3-4weeks because it's a bone in the neck when supervising more than 2 dozens of artisans. Very good conflict control measures has to be on ground for a successful management of such gathering. But so far, we've been awesome on the job, however, the client has been very happy and satisfactory with our job so far.
I wake up everyday around 5:30am, say my morning devotion before leaving for work. Another frustrating thing I experience everyday except on weekends in this city that never sleeps (Lagos, Nigeria), is the unbearable traffic jam I have to pass through, though, it's all for the beauty of the job. I get to work, do my job, then go home, that has been my recurring schedule lately.
But I got a twist yesterday which was the first day of the month of June. Just like normal, I was on the job when I got a call from one of the big construction firms I've submitted my CV to since last year. Though it's in another region of my country but it's still a better offer if I get the job because the call was to summon me for an interview at their office headquarters. When I heard the news, I was very happy because it's a bigger and better job with like pay.
Its actually not the call that has got my mood so excited but because of the timing of the call, the first day of the month. Anytime I get such news on the beginning of a new month, it's always been good news throughout the month. So my fellow steemians, I'm saying you should celebrate with me because I have the faith that I got the job already.
And to celebrate a new month starting on a good and perfect note, I went to the shopping mall to get some things to make a special dish for myself for the weekend while thanking the most high.
I got home last night feeling very excited, I slept well, woke up this morning, prepared for work and when I was about leaving the house, a very heavy rain started, but because I had to get to site before 8am, I entered the rain. So now, I'm back to doing what I love to do best, CONSTRUCTION.
Lastly, I want to use this golden opportunity to say a very big thank you to the person behind the birth of the #ulog/ #ulogs concept, @surpassinggoogle, a fellow Nigerian, a.k.a Mr Terry Ajayi, I will always love you.
