#ULOG 580 - Daily Thoughts - 05 Jan 19 - Homesteading Today...

Good Morning, Steemians! :D

I woke up with the same headache that I went to bed early last night to get rid of, oh joy, thankfully my handsome husband let me stay in bed later than I normally would. :D Even our puppies and grand-puppies were pretty good about keeping their barking to a minimum. :D After I finally got up, I went outside to help my handsome husband with the morning chores and to get a few pictures to share in my posts for today. :D I’m not sure what our lovely grand-puppies Lady and Mya are hunting here but Mya got to it first, whatever it was, my guess would be a mouse though. :D Their handsome brother Tiny wanted to join them but since he likes to hop the fence he was on the leash and had to watch his sisters from afar. :D

It was a mild -1 C here today, but it felt like 2 C and the hens where happy to come out in the fresh air to enjoy it. :D

I was taking this picture through the doorknob hole to the door into the chicken run and one of our hens caught me as I snapped it. :D

Leroy, Joker, Princess, and Buddy went down to the pasture right after they’d enjoyed a cold (warm in Leroy’s case) beverage and finished their oats except Belle, she stayed behind to make sure all the oats were completely gone. :D

I was heading back up get Belle when my handsome husband came out of the barn to shoo Belle on down to the pasture, she was making sure there weren’t any oats going to waste before she was ready to come down and join the others for her breakfast hay. :D

We were well supervised while we did the chores, our beautiful grand-puppies Mya and Lady, their lovely mother Karma, dapper dad Dakota and handsome brothers Tiny (not shown) and Shadow all kept an eye on us while we were out there. :D

Belle finally made it down to the pasture and I secured her in the pasture with Leroy, Princess, Buddy, and Joker then headed back up to the house. :D After my handsome husband and I got out of our barn clothes and washed up we both looked out the upstairs window and found Joker in the tub that we pour their water into during the spring/summer/fall and I took this picture. :D I’m not sure if he wanted a bath or just wanted to eat a bit of snow, either way we thought it was cute to see him in the tub while the others all ate their hay. :D

Our pretty puppy mom Karma napped behind me as I worked on a new jigsaw puzzle this afternoon. :D

I started this 588-pieces jigsaw puzzle called “Asperatus Clouds” in my Microsoft Jigsaw program once my headache had gotten down to a dull roar this afternoon. :D Its going to be a tough one I think, I’ve gotten about 12% done so far. :D

These three birds were making our puppies and grand-puppies go crazy and their barking was making my headache come back with a vengeance, so we had to throw them outside to bark to their hearts content. :D

Belle was in such a rush to get to her oats tonight that she ran all the way to the barn and I almost missed her completely in this picture, Princess, Leroy, Joker and Buddy (not shown) followed at a more sedate pace. :D

By the time Buddy came into camera view as he followed Princess, Leroy, and Joker up to the barn Belle (not shown) was already secured in her spot enjoying her oats. :D

Today was a good day for a snowball fight with my handsome husband or so he must have thought since he’s the one that started it, our puppies and grand-puppies got to play too, we made the snowballs and threw them in the air for them to catch. :D Although they were a bit confused when the snowballs disappeared into the snow around them, they seemed to really love the game, especially when they caught them. :D It was cute to watch the look of bewilderment as they searched for the ones they missed and the look of sheer delight when they caught them. :D

After we were tired of playing and the dogs had all gotten a good workout running around for the snowballs, we went inside to have our supper, pepperoni pizza with extra cheese, yum. :D
